We, as the band formally known as REGURGITATOR, spell it out in an allout annual roundup!

First and foremost, we just wanna say big thumbs ups for the pleasure of your support and engagement with our musical indulgences over 2023. It does not come without the goodness of your hearts and interest. For that we applaud you all!

And as surely as we head in that repetitive summer infestive season on the roll of a big barrell of heat we wish you all a great headful of fun! And in tandem with that sentiment we get to have some fun frolicking across the stages of merry a festival or two this next few months. Come a funnin’ with us!

In November 2018 we knocked down an old mobile phone shop, whacked a small stage up and opened up a tiny little venue in Southport. Around six months later a weird cloud formed over Gold Coast’s CBD and it bucketed down on top of the venue. What we didn’t know was that the night before someone had thrown a Schooner on top of the roof, and when the rain hit the schooner found its way into the downpipes and plugged the top up - forcing all the water to sq**rt out of every light fitting, flooding downstairs and also forming a waterfall that flowed straight onto the drum kit on stage. Perhaps that makes up part of our distinct smell that runs through the joint. A few months later, at one of our first sold out shows, the toilets completely blocked and we had staff & regulars plunging the toilets while their favourite band could be heard playing their song. In fact, it took about 4 years until we finally dug the old clay pipes that lay under the venue - and we finally made the news for finding old medicine bottles buried within. We’ve thrown a benefit for the devastating bushfires and shortly after, like everyone else, were forced to shut down while a Virus spread throughout the world. If you’d asked us if we had to deal with a world-wide pandemic, flooding and plunging s**t while our fave bands played we wouldn’t have believed you.

So, here we are 5 years later; still learning, building and making mistakes every day. We’re excited to announce VINNIES BIRTHDAY WEEK 2023, and have an amazing line up!!!

Hey NUKEcastle! You absolutely blew the can up with a world of soda froth yesterday. You threw yourselves into the richly deserved throne of KING ST from the get go to bask in the silver lizard universe of brothers of the time TUMBLEWEED. And then threw it all back up at us following. Been a while but we finally got there... we had been booked for multiple SCENE & HEARD festivals that went the way of pandemic punctures with the 2023 rendition we were lined up for having to head to the retirement village. "Finding ways to connect with friends can be deeply satisfying and many people connect in various ways. Some people play golf for extended periods of time. Some people go to Drag racing, Furry conventions or maybe even play a fine and wholesome game of Dungeons and dragons.

Mungo Fungo as a group that takes great pleasure in connecting socially in a tiny sound proof garden shed for regular Tuesday night freestyle jams. Once we hit 9.30pm we are very self conscious about upsetting the neighbours with our amplified guitar rock so we switch to the quieter format of analogue synthesisers and play and record long into the night. No songs are pre written or arranged. Oh no no no…

Everything you hear on Zargon Occillator Prose comes out of a need to connect and create happy accidents which are the songs you will find on this record! We hope you enjoy these little paintings we curated for the gallery that is you mind.

The past year back on stages has crushed and improvised from Spring Loaded to Good Things to Units - more steps than one can wonder up that craggy trail of precarious independence lingering on the kindling embers of a bloated spectacle. All in the face of an industry fabricating a vortex of froth and culture packed and canned for your homogenous convenience. And the costs burn offerings like a dialed up hot spit roast set on excess.

PSEUDO ECHO Pseudo Echo
Pseudo Echo pioneered the eighties with their avant-garde look and electro sound, introducing audiences to a new sound in an era of pub rock. TUMBLEWEED Tumbleweed
In 2022 Tumbleweed celebrated 30 years of rock with a national tour, they released a best of album called “Killer Weed” through Farmer and the Owl and a new single “Patchouli Girl” produced by Rob Younger. They played a few big stages with KISS and as a part of the Springloaded festival and since then have been laying low.

Tumbleweed was always about the wild live pub show, loud, sweaty, visceral energy where anything can happen, it’s what they love, it’s what they do best, and so Tumbleweed emerged from their cave to play a one off show last weekend. Mitch, Please are a 5-piece nerd punk band from Meanjin/Brisbane and sit somewhere between pop punk and hardcore in the genre spectrum. Elements of fast-tempo melodic pop meet heavier metal riffs and vocals that range from thrash-heavy to Disney-whimsical, with many levels in between. Debut EP The Bin Collection helped solidify the band as a local South East Queensland favourite, playing to a loyal fan base alongside some well-known Australian artists and receiving generous airplay from national community radio stations, with 4ZZZ FM ranking it in the Top 20 most played every week for over 4 months following it release. On December 9th, 2022, Mitch, Please released their second 6-track EP 'Yes, Thanks'. Using familiar elements of satire and double entendre akin to The Bin Collection, 'Yes, Thanks' takes inspiration from relatable shortcomings such as puzzle-addiction, over-consumption of fizzy drinks and the hoarding of band shirts.

In Jan 2020, Brixton Alley decided to jump on a plane from their UK homes and come to Australia to play shows and have fun. The pandemic at the time completely shattered their plans and they found themselves stranded in Melbourne with no clue what to do. They decided to adopt Australia and call it home and fast-forwarding to now, the boys are releasing their best music, playing their best shows and flying their new banner as an Australian band.

One thing that needs to be highlighted is Brixton Alley's work ethic. Since accidentally moving to Australia full time, the band has navigated the hardest time to play shows in history by knocking out over 100 gigs since the pandemic started.

Now calling Brisbane home, they are taking every opportunity to play and have supported bands like The Terry’s, Surf Trash and Pricey at iconic venues like The Triffid. Their live sets have quickly attracted die-hard fans, and they are being hailed as one of the best performing outfits in Brisbane.
