Our day respite offers many opportunities for connection and adventure. Our Sunnybank Hills Respite Centre recently took a group to the Kingston Butter Factory!

Our personal careers volunteered their own time to take a group of residents on an inaugural visit to the Rodeo Float Parade last week. This big-hearted team are already planning next year’s visit.

The results for the 2024 Reader’s Digest Trusted Brands Survey are in and we are so proud to announce that BlueCare has been voted Australia’s Most Trusted Brand in the highly competitive category of Home Care QLD for the third year in a row.

This is a result of the incredible work of our dedicated BlueCare staff all across Queensland, and a reminder that the compassion and passion that our people give every day in service of our clients and residents throughout the sunshine state does not go unnoticed.

The 2024 Trusted Brands survey was independently conducted by research company Catalyst Research and involved a sample of over 4300 Australian adults, from every state and territory, to rate the brands they trust the most.

BlueCare continues to improve and evolve the ways we care for and support Queenslanders in need and we are very grateful to receive this acknowledgement from the communities we serve.

Wednesday 22 May 2024, BlueCare celebrated the official opening of the newly refurbished BlueCare Toowoomba Aged Care Facility. A labour of love, strong partnerships and substantial investment from both BlueCare and the Australian Government has allowed us to deliver a refreshed aged care facility for the community of Toowoomba.

Our journey to realising this newly refurbished site began with a vision and commitment from many, to meaningfully improve our facilities and the experience of our residents, visitors and incredible staff. A two-year construction journey, which commenced almost exactly 2 years ago on 30 May 2022, has seen us expand the number of beds available, create vibrant new spaces including new kitchen and laundry facilities, easier navigation for all who visit and so much more.
Creating an even stronger sense of community has been at the heart of our plans and we are so pleased to hear how positive an impact this project has had on all those we care for here in Toowoomba.

Thank you to all involved in this journey. From Cottee Parker, who worked closely with us on the designs that would deliver the resident-friendly facilities and experiences we envisioned, to Total Construction, who helped us turn this vision into reality, thank you to our trusted partners. A big thanks to our partners at Lead Consultants too who have helped us navigate our way through potential obstacles, helping to make this a very smooth experience for all!

From the Federal Government who helped fund this project alongside us, to the many BlueCare business partners, including our Hospitality team and Property team, who helped bring everything together, thank you.

And of course, a huge thank you to our staff and residents, who lived and worked through this construction journey with us and who have joined us in celebration today. We cannot wait for your next visit!

This week is National Volunteer Week and the perfect opportunity to reflect on the vital role our volunteers play in supporting BlueCare, and the many communities we care for across Queensland.

Our volunteers are many and represent a diverse group of passionate people who are having a meaningful impact on the lives of those we support. With volunteers ranging from 16 to 85 years of age, we are constantly humbled by the energy they bring and their passion to support older Australians.
