Red Nose Day, celebrated today, is known as the day ‘to get silly for a serious cause.’ But do we truly understand the significance behind the cause?

Red Nose Day was established to raise awareness for SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) research.

Thanks to Red Nose Day initiatives, a safe sleep program has been established, offering resources to parents, caregivers, and healthcare professionals to reduce the risks of infant sleep-related deaths, potentially saving more than 12,000 young lives.

Were you aware that Gestational Diabetes (GDM) affects around 10-15% of pregnancies and is the fastest-growing type of diabetes in Australia? Typically, it is diagnosed between 24 and 28 weeks of pregnancy, or sometimes earlier, and often resolves post-childbirth. Effective management of gestational diabetes during pregnancy is essential to reduce the risk of complications.

As we celebrate National Diabetes Week this week (from July 14 to 20 this year), it presents a timely opportunity to raise awareness about this condition.
