Bathroom at one of our recently completed project. We love using stone throughout the room from vanity tops, niche boxes, bath surrounds and door sills.

We are proud to be a family business and when tools are down Eric and his family can often be found at Netball. Each family member has their contribution, to assist in the club. The children play in their teams, Sarah (Mrs VL) is in the club committee and Eric helps with muscle, bbqs and other odd jobs.

So when the club was looking for sponsors for the 2024/25 seasons VL Constructions was more than happy to assist. On Wednesday the club invited sponsors to assist in handing out new club shirts, featuring our logo. It’s rewarding to give back to the community and make full circle the reason we have a business. The client wanted more light and flow on to the deck area so we removed two small French doors and installed timber slacker doors with Crimsafe screens, supplied by .

VL Constructions is a family owned small construction company, specialising in quality, custom residential builds and renovations. Our team is fun, respectable and professionals in their roles and trades.

A permanent part-time Administrator position is available, start date in early 2023.
We are seeking an applicant who is an enthusiastic learner with old fashioned interpersonal skills; and a knack for the details. Roles included but not limited to:
-Book keeping (Xero)
-Data entry
-Systems and processing
-Communication with clients and team members
-Scheduling
-using Microsoft Applications including SharePoint and Office
-background in finance is admirable but not required.

This position is a permanent part time role, approx 15-20hrs/wk suitable for “school hours” and potential to be flexible for the right candidate.
2 years Administration experience is a must, with a minimum Cert IV in administration highly admirable. Knowledge and experience in Microsoft applications highly valued.

Had a great weekend with the kids building some possum boxes.
During the week the kids saw a ring tailed possum being attacked by crows so they wanted to build the possum a home to keep him safe. So we went to work, cheers to some happy possums.

Congratulations to Nick on finishing his Apprenticeship this week. He is a wonderful asset to our team. Alway keen to learn and sets the bar high each day. 🤜

The work also involved opening up the attic space to make a usable space.

Breakfast and team meeting with the guys. So important to educate and update the guys on where we are heading in our business and iron through any issues we are having. Helps us have a great culture in the team.

Great night out with a great team! These guys I ask so much of and they never hesitate to deliver every time.
As the year roles around towards the end we reflect on 2021: Another intense year faced with all the challenges COVID could throw at a dynamic, small trade business. Because of it all we were forced to shake it up and change. We found growth, change and adaptability in so many areas and for everything 2021 threw at us we are grateful. Throughout these ups and downs and all the changes, the boys stayed strong and consistent. Thanks guys, your work ethic really did hold us up strong.
Not only did we move our small family business out of the family nest to its own location we overhauled our processes and streamlined our communication. A huge shoutout to our admin team for underpinning this transition. The girls weren’t interested in last nights agenda and will celebrate in their own styles, enjoy your downtime ladies.

VL Constructions will continue to tie off our agenda up until Dec23, office will be closed from COB Dec 17, new enquires and communications will be tended to upon our return in 2022.

Hope the hangovers are kind team! You are all so brilliant!

Grange project coming along nicely.
Just need the rain to hold off to finish the roofing.
Guys have have done a fantastic job on the hand pitched roof to keep the job on schedule.

With all the delays on timber at the moment, we had a long delay on roof trusses so we decided to hand pitching the hip and valley roof at our grange project, saving months of delays.
Its great getting to use the old skills again.

Last week we farewelled Matt as he moves on to his new career.
Many years ago, Eric and Matt did their apprenticeship together and for the last 5 years Matt has worked with VL Constructions. He has been an important team member and will be very missed.
But… We wish Matt all the best as he moves on to the next exciting chapter of his life.

Great few days camping at Straddie for the annual VL Constructions camping trip. Great time to relax and thank the guys for the awesome work this year.
