DAY 4 OF OUR ACTION WEEK: Disease and Medical Impact in Sudan

The war in Sudan between has unleashed a devastating chain reaction, leading to mass displacement and a resurgence of preventable diseases like measles, cholera, dengue, and malaria.
As poverty and food insecurity rise, malnourished individuals, especially children, are at heightened risk. The health chief of Kassala, Mohamed Mustafa Mohamed, emphasizes that worsening environmental conditions and the influx of displaced people are fueling this crisis.
The World Health Organization warns that ongoing violence will exacerbate these issues, hindering healthcare access and immunization efforts. Sudan’s humanitarian catastrophe demands urgent attention and action!

Day 3 OF OUR ACTION WEEK: Sudan’s Heritage is Under Attack.
Sudan is home to over 500 ethnic groups and more than 100 languages, with a rich history that includes over 200 pyramids—more than Egypt! Sites like the ancient city of Meroe, the Souq market in Omdurman, and the National History Museum have been symbols of this heritage.
Now, these landmarks are being burned, looted, and destroyed amidst the conflict. Priceless artifacts are being sold online, and libraries and places of worship are being wiped out.
This is more than just an attack on history—it’s an attack on the identity of Sudan’s people. We must act to protect Sudan’s heritage and support its people in this time of crisis.

DAY 2 OF OUR ACTION WEEK: Statistics Inside Sudan
Sudan is engulfed in a violent power struggle between rival military factions, leaving innocent civilians caught in the crossfire. The International Rescue Committee has identified Sudan as the world’s most pressing humanitarian crisis for 2024, with staggering reports of 150,000 killed and over 10 million displaced.
Famine has officially been declared in Zamzam Camp, and nearly 800,000 are at risk of catastrophic food insecurity. This crisis extends beyond a single region; every state, city, and village in Sudan is affected.
The humanitarian catastrophe cannot be ignored. Join us for our Week of Action starting October 14th to raise awareness and support for the people of Sudan.

DAY 1 OF OUR ACTION WEEK: History of The Conflict in Sudan

The history of the war in Sudan is rooted in authoritarian rule, corruption and armed conflict that has culminated in a humanitarian crisis that is devastating communities across the country. It is important to note that before the war, Sudan was a lively and welcoming nation. However, since April 15th, the vibrant country we once knew has been torn apart by a violent power struggle.

Since its independence in 1956, Sudan has witnessed several coups and countless uprisings, with Omar al-Bashir’s 30-year rule entrenched in corruption and military control.

Right now Sudan is facing one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world, millions are suffering—displaced families, children facing starvation, and entire communities struggling to survive. It is our responsibility as an Ummah to unite and support our brothers and sisters in Sudan. We must act NOW.

This film exposes Zionism! They tried to shut us down - but we won’t be stopped!!

🍿*MOVIE NIGHT 4 PALESTINE*
🎬 THIS SUNDAY 6PM!
Outdoor cinema at UQ Palestine Encampment - everyone is welcome!

Join us for an exclusive screening of the *award-winning documentary ‘Israelism’.*

Last week the university censored our screening of the film - so we petitioned to the Australian Classification Department and have secured our right to screen this powerful documentary - don’t miss it! Suitable for all ages!

Created by Jewish ex-Zionist filmmakers, this movie offers a powerful perspective on propaganda that fuels oppression. Witness the dramatic shift in Jewish attitudes toward Israel - informed by Israel’s treatment of Palestinians, revealing a deepening generational divide over modern Jewish identity. We will also be joined by Jewish Professors speaking in solidarity for peace.

Now more than ever, it is critical for all of us to educate ourselves and come together for Palestine. Show the university you are here to support us!
