Ant had never been to a gym before, moved to Bundaberg and stepped straight into the CrossFit world with us and 5am crew (aka the rowdy crew). You could see he was slightly out of his comfort zone, but he did not give up.
Since the day he stepped into the gym, he has worked so hard, he listens and tries his best every single day.
It’s so amazing seeing how far Ant has come, not only his performance, but it’s been great to see his confidence grow, make new friends and has really slipped in nicely to the CFU community.
Fun Fact about Ant 🤫 because he has kept this on the DL… Last month Ant became the ‘official’ Australian record holder in 30sec speed skipping 😮

CrossFit Kids Term 2 was a real hoot with this lot 🤩

This is Jack, and his best mate Odin.
Jack wasn’t too sure about Odin when he first arrived. Odin comes across quite cold, and initially can be quite hard to approach. But after consistently spending time together.. 3-4 times a week before training, Jack is now Odin’s biggest fan 🤩
Spending time with Odin has many benefits

It’s actually quite empowering adding ice to your recovery routine.
The colder weather has thrown a spin on things, some people finding it harder to commit to ice bathing… This is where you may find Suzie the Infrared Sauna could come in handy.. those pair really are a match made in heaven 😍

We are so lucky to have 3 wonderful ladies who volunteer their time to child mind during these classes.
Whilst everyone is welcome to bring their children in to any class, any day 🫶 This has definitely helped those Mummas get in and moving while their little ones get used to the gym 🥰
Zoe really enjoyed todays - lapping up all the waves from the crew doing the Lighthouse Run Festival 🥳

We could not go past you for April’s Athlete of The Month. 🤩
Keith puts the G into Grind, the C into commitment, the S into sweaty, and B into… will dominate you in any workout with Burpees 😜
Keith’s had a fabulous start to the competition year finishing the CrossFit Open in the 98th percentile World Wide in his age division, and recently took on the CrossFit Games semifinals finishing 149th Worldwide.
All competition achievements aside- Keith’s dedication and commitment to the CrossFit cause is something that can not be denied- he’s been around the game for a long time, he still loves to hurt, challenge himself and be the first one there to give you a knuckles at the end of the WOD (once he peels himself off the floor).
Keith is a all round good guy, and we are so lucky to have him in our Community 👊🏼

🔥 ATHLETE OF THE MONTH - MARCH 🔥
It’s been a big couple of months at TFB with the CrossFit Open & Unleashed @ United. But one person in particular has really stepped out of his comfort zone, and up to the plate so this was a no brainer for us.
The March AOTM goes to 🤘🏼
Sam has been in the CrossFit world for only a short time but has come leaps and bounds. I still remember one of his first CrossFit classes- he would refer to it as a near death experience 🤣. But Sam puts.in.the.work 👊🏼 Classes, Barbell Club, PT’s and extras on weekends. He works in his weaknesses.
CrossFit ability aside- he’s also extremely Coachable- no ego involved, takes on feedback and is always open to learning anything the coaches throw at him.
The proof is in the pudding- this month Sam jumped in on his first RX comp (after a lot of hesitation and nerves) and absolutely blew us all away. The whole of TFB couldn’t believe what they witnessed- seeing him hit another level and doing himself (and us all) so proud.
He’s also just an all round good human 👊🏼 and will give every person his time.
Congratulations Sam- now bring on Quarter Finals 🤘🏼

Starting in May- we are trialing some Hyrox training classes in our Class Timetable.
Our Program will remain CrossFit & Weightlifting dominant, but as the hype is starting to grow in Australia with a competition coming to Brisbane in August, we’d love to offer this additional option for those interested.
🤩 HYROX is a global fitness race for Every Body. Participants from all around the world compete in the exact same format. The race starts with a 1 km run, followed by 1 functional movement, which repeats 8 times, taking place in large indoor venues, creating a unique stadium like atmosphere for all participants. It can be completed individually, in pairs or teams.
If this is something you are interested in, send us a msg and we will keep you up to date with the trial session times when all details have been confirmed 🙏🏼
