Lovely visit from the wonderful Anita Dow today!

Did you know that anyone living with a life-limiting illness can access Hospice Care Association of North West Tasmania Inc. volunteers.

A referral can be made by you, your family and friends or your GP by phone, email or via the website.

Hospice can provide in home respite and transport to treatment, appointments and social outings.

It was lovely to catch up with Lois from Hospice Care today in Burnie.

Two members of our Walking through Grief Program (Joan and Wendy) sharing their smiles today at our National Volunteer Week Event! There were goodie bags with Volunteering Tasmania badges, Volunteering Australia note pads and chocolates. Volunteering Tasmania Certificates, Devonport City Council Certificates, 10 year service recognition pens. (Joan on the left has been a Hospice Volunteer for 29 years!) PLUS graduation certificates and name badges for our newest group of Volunteers!

Have you heard the term ‘compassionate community’? What does it mean to you?

Our next online PalliLEARN session will focus on the term ‘compassionate communities’ – a network of support around people experiencing serious illness, dying, death, and grief. In this session, you will be introduced to how to nurture compassionate communities in your area.

This session is free and open to anyone in the community. Health professionals can earn 1 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) point for completing this event.
