Have you ever wondered why you experience pain flare ups when you "haven't really done anything different"?
ā ā
Pain is a complex issue but we know that many things can affect it, including stress, poor sleep, activity level and our mental health. Different things can trigger flare-ups for different people. ā The amount of daily stressors and threats we experience varies, and so does our daily capacity to handle them. Therefore our pain experience may also vary.
ā
Living with persistent pain can be a really isolating and draining experience. These are all things that we take into account during your initial assessment. We will then work with you to provide you with education and information that is relevant to you, along with helpful tools to further help you manage your pain to improve the quality of your daily living.
Today we farewell Alanah š§”
Thank you for all that you have contributed to the clinic over the last 2 years Alanah, and for being such a lovely, calm and knowledgeable person to work alongside. We wish you all the best with your next steps.

Do you have a tendon injury or issue?
Have you been told to rest?
Read on ....
Tendon injuries require a specific rehab plan and unfortunately rest doesn't benefit their recovery (as natural as it may feel to rest with pain!) as this causes them to decondition further, which then contributes to a flare up once you go back to activity. This can be an awful and annoying cycle to be in!ā
Tendons are built to handle load and recovery is about finding the right load within tolerance, and then gradually increasing that load to allow the tendon to adapt and heal. This shouldn't be a painful process and the earlier you start the better your outcome.
Let us help get you back on track. Call us on 6253 2388.
Unlike most manual therapy techniques which are based on compression of the muscles and other tissues, cupping involves the application of decompressed cups on the skin to create a vacuum effect that lifts up the underlying tissues that are close to the surface of the skin.
Cupping can help to:
šøReduce tension & adhesion in the tissues
šøReduce muscular pain & dysfunction
šøImprove overall movement & function
šøPromote blood circulation
šøReduce swelling by draining lymph
šøProvide new input to the nervous system
šøPassively stretch soft tissue
šøIncrease the relaxation effect on the body
šøCorrectly align collagen (prevent scarring)
šøAid recovery (increasing nutrients during repair phase of injury)

Did you know that by 2030, the world population of menopausal and postmenopausal women is projected to increase to 1.2 billion?
Did you also know that while perimenopause is primarily viewed as a reproductive transition, the symptoms are actually largely neurological in nature?
Last week Justin spoke to our group about menopause, as well as the stage leading up to menopause, known as perimenopause, which can start many years before a womanās period ends. Menopause is something that all women will experience at some point in their lives, and this is an extremely relevant topic for us as therapists as so many of our clients are women.
How can we help? šø
Soft Tissue Therapy can help to relieve muscular and joint aches, as well as decrease cortisol levels to facilitate relaxation. Reducing pain and inducing relaxation can help to ease anxiety, depression and stress, and support better sleep quality through this transition. Physiotherapy and Exercise Physiology can also help by prescribing exercises for tendon injuries or pain. Estrogen has a protective effect on tendons and it isn't uncommon for women to experience tendon pain or issues when their estrogen levels start to reduce.
If you or someone you love is going through perimenopause or menopause and could use additional body support during this, please get in touch with us.
Need an appointment asap?
Thank you Grace. We appreciate the amazing feedback š¤©
