The Harbour Tennis Academy

The Harbour Tennis Academy and Westside Tennis Club is having a Wheelchair Tennis come and try session on Sunday September 15th 2024 9am to 11am. All ages welcome, no experience required and all equipment provided. Come on out and try Wheelchair tennis. Utilising our custom built hard-court tennis court which is awesome for the wheelies. Huge congratulations to Ruby Pade and Ayva Quigg who represented NSW in the National Indigenous Tennis Carnival in Darwin over the past 5 days.

The girls had the opportunity to meet Ash Barty, Evonne Goolagong Cawley, and Jessica Mauboy who are inspiring women to young Indigenous people.

Ruby 3rd in the 18’s showdown singles event and Ayva and Mahala from NSW winning the 14u doubles event.

The girls have enjoyed smoking ceremony, hitting on the courts, and participating in cultural activities with special guest appearances from former world No. 1 Ash Barty and Evonne Goolagong Cawley and live performances from Jessica Mauboy and J Milla.

The event inspires to invite tennis and Indigenous culture together.

Great spending time today with Coffs Harbour tennis ace Charlie Pade and to recognise him for representing his State in recent years.🎾

He played for NSW at the Australian High School Tennis Championships (Pizzey Cup) where he was selected in the All-Australian Tennis Team.

Charlie is now combining his university studies with playing in professional tournaments, where he's picked up his first ATP point.

He is an outstanding ambassador for the Coffs Coast.

That’s a wrap - the 2023 43rd ‘C.ex Coffs’ Northern NSW Tennis Tournament was played over the weekend at the Westside Tennis Club with these 2 little legends winning a couple of titles. Ruby Saunders won the 12 Girls Doubles whilst Ayva Quigg went through undefeated to take out the 12 Girls Singles. Well played girls👏

Congrats to Ayva, who took out her division on Sunday in the junior tennis tournament held at Sawtell Tennis Club. Undefeated all day ☑️
Also special mention to Ruby Saunders who came third in her division with some solid results. Lincoln Wilson also represented Harbour Tennis Academy in the same tournament. 

Westside Tennis Club and the Harbour Tennis Academy are hosting the 2023 17th Northern NSW Wheelchair Tennis Tournament being held on Sat 2nd & Sun 3rd December. Start time being 10 am and cost being $60 for the singles and doubles. Anybody interested in playing in this event, please message back & remembering that this event is always held in a relaxed atmosphere with no pressure and great enjoyment with all standards definitely welcomed. Congrats for Ayva Quigg who took out the 12’s girl singles yesterday in the north-east RMS event held at Sawtell Tennis Club. 

A big last few days has wrapped up for our 3 juniors who competed in the National Indigenous Tennis Carnival held in Darwin.
Ayva Quigg, Ruby & Charlie Pade represented NSW in which NSW took out the Ash Barty Cup. Other highlights include Ayva not losing a match; Ruby Pade coming 3rd in the 18/u girls & Charlie taking out the 18/u boys event. Well played & well deserved.

Congratulations to our three talented junior tennis players this weekend competing in Darwin at the National Indigenous Tennis Carnival. Representing New South Wales both Charlie and Ruby Pade are competing in the 18/u age group whilst 12-year-old Ayva Quigg is competing in the future stars event. Not only is it three days packed full of tennis, but an amazing array of cultural activities are held.

Narranga PS PSSA Tennis Team travelled to Bangalow on Wednesday to play the North Coast PSSA Tennis Final.
Unfortunately, Narranga narrowly went down to an equally talented team from Coorabell PS. The day came down to the wire with only 4 games separating us over 8 matches. 4 sets all and 30-26 games.
Congratulations to Ayva, Jasmine, Kristian, Connor and Ruby for displaying wonderful sportsmanship and some excellent tennis.
We have watched all of the kids develop over the years here at the Harbour Tennis Academy at Westside Tennis Club & we are proud of your achievement in this state wide Cup.

Rally4Ever is an organisation that provides free tennis for all Carers. Held every Thursday at Westside Tennis Club, King Street, Coffs Harbour from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. No experience needed and we can provide tennis racquets. On court tennis coaching in a fun & enjoyable atmosphere.
All welcome for a fun hour of free tennis.

Congrats to these two little champions. Both played in the Sawtell New South Wales Claycourt tournament last weekend and took home some trophies. Ruby Saunders runner up in the 10 girls singles whilst Ayva Quigg was runner up in the 12 girls singles but winner of the 14 girls doubles. Well done girls
