I thought it was time to re-introduce myself as it's been a little while and there are alot of new faces around here!

I'm Sam 👋 and I am the sole practitioner here at Essentia Therapies. I have been professionally practicing bodywork since 2015, assisting people from all walks of life improve their health and wellbeing.

Folks often ask me what got me into this line of work, I think the work chose me quite frankly and this is where many of my natural gifts reside. I have had all sorts of jobs and “sort-of” career paths before I really found my groove. I am continually fascinated by the healing arts and humbled by the effect this work has on my life.

I have developed a unique and holistic way of working that offers many opportunities for change and for deepening connection to our bodies’ innate wisdom and sensitivity. 

To me, touch is a language and form of communication. I have carefully cultivated skilled touch that is deeply connected, considered and loving ~ this is at the heart of every session.

My clients value my commitment to their wellbeing, which extends beyond the session time, and enjoy the variety of modalities I draw upon in creating treatments that are supportive and nurturing.

When I am not in clinic or working I am letting my brain off the leash and reverting to my little more chaotic self. I love being creative and making things, exploring nature, cooking (and eating!), porch sitting with copious amounts of tea, thrift shopping (people tell me I have a magical knack for finding amazing treasures), going to the cinema, spending time with my friends and family, being an Aunty to a bunch of tiny humans, going to the cinema and cuddling dogs ❤️

   

Homely practitioner space for rent on Wednesdays 9am~7pm
Clinic is a charming old house situated on Barrabool Rd, very close to Highton villiage precinct.
Rooms are independently rented by other practitioners and we have all have great relationships and good work flow/dynamic. Looking for someone who is grounded, respectful and professional.

The clinic has a carpark out the back, on street parking, kitchen, bathroom and waiting room. There is no reception, we all take care of our own admin.
It is an older building so it does come with its charm and quirks.

I have been operating from here for 4 years (Essentia Therapies) and have cultivated a relaxed homely space that clients love and find very healing. Previously I have had a counsellor and an OT who have both used the space, it is suitable for many kinds of therapies.

The room has a firm and fold electric massage bed and a sink in the room along with two chairs and other furnishings.
I also have a printer black and white available for use. If you use linen and don't want to bring your own I can arrange to include that at an additional price as I get my towels professionally laundered, that will be based on average usage.

This would suit someone looking for a second location or starting out but with some established clientele.
Price is $80 per day plus bond. I will chat further about conditions of arrangement on meeting and inspection.

Many of you ask about the Lavender oil I use, as there is just something about this particular one that is unlike any other I have experienced. It's like a big hug from someone you love ❤️ It's so special.
I get my oils from Claire (who used to teach me back at Southern School of Natural Therapies!), she offers a huge range and takes incredible care to source high quality & ethical oils.
I am hoping to stock some very soon in clinic also 🌿

I'm putting the call out for some practice bodies. I am currently studying again and will need volunteers for my practical components. You will need to be comfortable with being in an online classroom setting (from my clinic). It will be an hour on a Monday at either 11am or 6pm, not sure which one yet. I've been entertaining some decorative changes for a little while now, making some little tweaks to get a feel for where its going ✨️
Yesterday my wave of creative energy kicked in and voila! This is just one part of the room, the otherside has also changed significantly but I still have a bit of fluffing to still do. What do you think?! ❤️

Winter sunshine 😍

   

It's so wild to think that it's been almost 4 years since I set sail on the voyage that is Essentia Therapies ✨️

While it looks like I have been plugging along as usual, behind the scenes in my world this year has been incredibly strange. The beginning of the year was carnage, a series of "one thing after anothers" finally topped off with a helluva blindside. Everything abruptly changed overnight, and I have been in a pretty interesting personal healing process since.

I took a fair bit of time off in March and scaled my work right back as I had very limited capacity to deliver the standard I need to, obviously not ideal when you are your only employee....I slowly built back up my schedule, all of my available energy has been focused on my work and clients, then the rest has been me muddling through and drinking lots of cups of tea on the porch (I now live semi rural so hence all the sunrise spam in my stories)
I just need to say a huge thank you to those who have been so lovely and patient with my admin and other bits and pieces that had gone a bit feral.

I feel so blessed to have been so supported by a web of amazing folk including a handful formidable women who helped me feel for the edges of the new shape my life had taken. Having therapist friends is such a huge blessing when sh*t hits the fan 😂

I nearly made the decision to close about a month ago... wayyy to close (emails to landlords etc) but in that "desicion window" some magical things happened and well...I'm still here, stubborn and tenacious as ever, just a bit more sweary and equipped with more life lessons.

Anyhoo, I've been feeling freshly inspired and some exciting changes are on the horizon. Ill be getting back to study next month and theres some gorgeous ideas perculating away. I just want to thank everyone who has trusted me and continues to trust me with their health and wellbeing. I truly have so many interesting folk who come through my door and I learn so much from you all 🙏

It's that time of year where hot stones are becominhlg the hero of many treatments again. While often I incorporate hot stones into my Remedial work, I love offering stand alone hot stone treatments. It's absolute magic and so deeply warming and nourishing 💫 🔥
