Excited to announce Nature Circle will be hosting a FREE workshop at Geelong Botanic Gardens Open day this Sunday 10-1pm.

Come along and make your very own Clay Pinch Pot. A favourite nature art practice, suitable for both adults and kids. Using your fingertips to mould a ball of clay into a bowl or whatever your heart desires.
The process can be an creative and immersed with intention, or a fun little activity for kids too.

Come and get creative 💚 immerse yourself in clay and have your art to take home.

There's lots of other things happening on the day too , will be a great day out

Im so delighted this evening of honouring the earth and ourselves is resonating. It seems to me that there is a strong stirring of connecting back to the natural world , to engage in ceremony, and to be in community as we mark and honour the turning of the seasons.

Nature is Art. Nature is a mirror. The more than human world has wisdom to share with you.

When was the last time you sat and listened ?
I mean really sat and observed and felt.

Something people who come to Nature Circle report is that they spend plenty of time in nature, bushwalking, gardening, socialising. But the quality of beingness we create at at Nature Circle is different. It's tangible. Deep immersion, beingness and listening, beyond the ordinary surface level. When you stop and sit for an extended period of time, something magical happens. The body regulates, breath deepens, you can feel yourself, emotions arise, wisdom arises. Your body knows what to it. It just needs opportunities to guide you.

Melting into the moment. Giving yourself permission to play and create. Something special happens when we create art. We lose ourselves in the moment completely immersed with the creation in front if us. Accessing the subconscious mind. Bypassing the busy thinking mind. The very talented Natalie sketched this yellow tail black cockatoo feather at the last gathering. Sometimes we use pastels crayons and pencils, other times we utilise natural materials clay charcoal, gumnuts seeds bark feather flowers stone . Either way, the result is the same. Melting into the moment. Permission to play and create.

Something amazing happened last week. I was part of Exhibtion Opening Broken glass soft grass and offered this interactive somatic nature art experience. The invitation was to feel into your body, feel into the land of Wadawurrung Country, feel into the seasons and cycles of life , and co create a nature mandala. To belong to place, knowing everyone has a part to play, a piece of the puzzle to contribute . The materials I had foraged, seed pods, feathers, plant materials from my wanders. The sand from my kids sandpit. And many friends hands helped pull it all together. What came if it was beautiful. People of all ages held these seed cases in the palm of there hand, in there fingertips, and let themselves play. Kids adults and elders all co mingled to create. There's something about holding a nature item in your hand, feeling the texture, smelling the scent, noticing the intricate pattern, it lightness heaviness , scratchiness, it's beauty. This process is a way to deeply connect. To the land, to your body, to your creativity, to your truth, to play.

The exhibition continues until the end of July, at Platform Arts studio, with the mandala creations continuing over that time.

Just began reading this book.
I'm up to chapter 3 and can't put it down. I feel like I've been let in to a secret world and honoured and privileged to recieve this wisdom held within these pages.

Nature Circle updated their address.

Soooo excited to be launching Nature Circle! A simple yet profound gathering on the land, to allow you time to connect to nature, yourself and others. Seeped in ritual and ceremony we practice nature connection skills, deep listening, movement, sharing, reciprocity, gratitude, wildcrafting, nature art, myth story and song. All the practices have the intention of connecting you back to yourself, the land and more than human world.
The benefits of nature connection practice are many and include calming the nervous system, getting out of your head and into your body, connecting to your inner guidance system and trusting your intuition, joy, creativity, getting to know and trust yourself on a deeper level and much more.
A regular nature connection practice is not only fun, but excellent for mental health and physical wellbeing. And we meet in a small group creating a community and social aspect as well
We meet in ceremony and honour the traditional owners of the land, the Wudawurrung people of the Kulin nation and respect that this land was never ceded

Our first ever gathering is on Friday 20th May, with limited spaces.
