I have made the decision to no longer share my posts on Facebook. I find this platform frustrating and am tired of them trying to convince me to pay to boost my likes and visibility.
The purpose of my page is to share my story, journey and experiences. Not to create more followers or for marketing purposes.
I can still be found on Instagram
Thank you for following along on FB β€οΈ

Oh my heart π₯° I am still making my way through my Principal Catch Ups with all of the new children βΊοΈ This morning after our chat and hot chocolate, A asked if he could draw my portrait π What a special way to start my day β€οΈ
I have wrestled with whether to share this π€ We do not place an emphasis on NAPLAN and we do not teach to the test π ββοΈWe see it as a snapshot of literacy and numeracy skills at that time and have an abundance of other learning information that we use to know each child as a learner, where they are and what they need next βΊοΈI often hear judgments about our school that are based on limited information or facts π All they do is play, there is no βrealβ learning, it is the Disneyland of schoolsβ¦.. just to share a few π³ Yes learning is a priority, yes we are accountable to every childβs growth and yes we do have fun as often as we can! π₯° Our NAPLAN results are one piece of evidence that we are are a community of learners ππ½ Keep swiping to see other thoughts around learning and assessment β€οΈ
Our Wellbeing Team Meeting Warm Up was a game of One Two Three from βs book All Work No Play π We certainly met (and exceeded) the aim of the game of laughter π₯° Warm ups are such a beautiful way to integrate from the learning space into a meeting space β€οΈ
On play supervision at lunchtime I was invited to N and P's restaurant π₯° I was given the best table in the house and served ice cream and cake π It was delicious and I was about to leave a 5 star review until I found out it was poisonous! π³π€£ Have a wonderful weekend everyone β€
Rach is away at a training course with Teagan and while we already miss them it has meant that I have been able to have a session with most groups today π₯° I read Animalia to Ash, Tracy and Emily's Groups, exploring one of my favourite literary devices, alliteration π Shae and Fiona's Groups chose to write or draw a reflection after reading the dreaming story, Mad Magpie π Being with the children is so rewarding, fills my bucket and makes my heart burst β€
Writing moderation time! π The Group Guides used their Team Meeting this afternoon to analyse every child's writing π The Guides love celebrating growth and establishing where to next π₯° As you can see, Shae loves this process! β€
Today during Enviro, we had the fabulous Georgina and Steve from teach us about Autumn planting π They helped us prepare the veggie beds and plant seedlings, some of which we grew in our hot house π₯° We all learned a lot through this process π We are looking forward to harvest time! β€
Following on from a session where the children learned about storytelling and symbols, some children from Emily and Tracy's Groups painted their own stump at our Gathering Circle π It was beautiful to observe Norm and Nikki support the children and we look forward to the rest of the children from those groups having their turn π₯° I cannot wait to see them all finished β€
Today our WFA (Woodline Families Association) organised another beautiful community event, our very first Pasta and Music Family Day π It was magical having everyone together connecting over food and music π₯° This event also raised money for our fundraising projects π It was such a success that we will definitely have another day in the future π Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this day happen β€
I had a lovely surprise this afternoon, Tracy's Group had made me a Kindness box π It included beautiful hand painted rocks and a kindness jar with little notes for me look at if I am feeling sad π₯° Have a wonderful weekend everyone β€

How beautiful is the MY FIRST YEAR photo of Shae's Group!?! π certainly captured the essence of π₯° We cannot wait to see it in the paper soon! β€
Shae's Group had a ball outside during numeracy today π They explored the grounds looking for tens frames and then documented and shared their findings π₯° It filled my bucket observing many different outdoor sessions throughout this beautiful day β€
We would love for you to join us! β€

A big thank you to Robbie from Victoria Police for coming in to facilitate a cyber safety workshop with our oldest groups of children π He then facilitated a session after school for caregivers π This is such a relevant and important topic for our children and can be a challenging issue for families to navigate β€
Today Rach and I met with some of the crew to start planning leadership workshops for our older children that focus on self, connection and purpose β€
It is the time of year when I start my one on one principal catch ups with all of our new children π I am going to be busy with so many new children this year as well as the ones who started later in the year last year π I ask them how they are feeling at Woodline, what they love about our school and their ideas to make our school even better π₯° These conversations are best done over a hot chocolate or peppermint tea with marshmallows π« This is definitely one of my favourite parts of my job β€
Today, I had the privilege of having .school principal, Matt shadow me today π₯° It is always wonderful connecting with fellow educators β€
