Many organisations have a D&I committee or plan for each equity cohort: disability, LGBTIQA+, gender, cultural diversity - but what about the people who have more than one of these attributes? Do your LGBTIQA+ initiatives create positive change for all your LGBTIQA+ staff or only a select few?
Join me and Budi Sudarto as we unpick the concept of Intersectionality and why organisations need to shift their inclusion efforts away from this siloed approach if they want to truly become inclusive of all people.

With Elliot Page coming out, we'd like to address the question;
How do you refer to transgender and gender diverse people before they came out?
The general safe rule is to ALWAYS use the persons current name and pronouns. Regardless of how they identified at the time and whether the person is a Celebrity or not, always use current name & pronouns.
[Image description
On a white background with large blue writing at the top โHow do I refer to a trans person before they came out?โ
In red below this it says โAlways use the persons current name and pronouns when you talk about themโ
Under this on the left under a green tick it says โBack when Pete was a little kid, he loved playing soccerโ
On the right under a red X it says โwhen Pete was a little girl, she used to love playing soccerโ]

Immediately we felt relaxed and welcome. Thanks NAB for making LGBTIQ people welcome in your world and for going a step further and promoting it through sponsorships in sport in regional areas.
