It’s National Stroke Week and the F.A.S.T. test as an easy way to remember the most common signs of stroke.

Using the F.A.S.T. test involves checking these 4 signs:

🤔 Face - Check the face to see if their mouth has drooped.
💪 Arms - Can they lift both arms at the same time?
🗨️ Speech - Is their speech slurred? Do they understand you?
⌛ Time Is critical. If you see any of these signs call 000 (triple zero) straight away.

We’re delighted to welcome Radiologist Dr Lakshmi Srinivasan to our team of highly experienced doctors. She is now working on-site at our practice on Blackwood Street, within the North Melbourne medical and hospital precinct.

Here, Dr Srinivasan is offering her sub-specialised paediatric expertise to patients and local referrers, in conjunction with MRI, CT, ultrasound, interventional and general radiology.

Last Saturday, Lake Imaging and the Geelong Breast Clinic (GBC) were proud to attend Support Your Girls breast cancer awareness event, hosted by Provenance Wines.

Renowned Geelong Surgeons Mr Conrad Brandt and Mr Joshua Lin spoke about the importance of self breast checks and mammograms to screen for any unusual changes or abnormalities. The afternoon was filled with some amazing guest speakers who shared their personal stories in dealing with breast cancer and encouraging the audience to be more pro-active with their health.

Lake Imaging and GBC, led by Dr Linda West, are passionate about providing the local community with specialised breast imaging services.

This week is Spinal Health Week, and here at Lake Imaging, we are reminding everyone of the importance of maintaining good spinal health.

This month is Lung Health Awareness Month, and Lung Foundation Australia are raising awareness of lung diseases.

Today at our Ocean Grove practice, we saw our very first mammography patient! In collaboration with BreastScreen Victoria, we are thrilled to bring this much needed service to the Bellarine community.
If you or a loved one is aged between 50 to 74, have no symptoms and have not had a mammogram in the last 2 years, it might be a good time to book your 10 minute free breast screen.
