Ayon sa mga paniniwala, ang tinatawag na “Pasma” ay nagdudulot ng panginginig at pagpapawis ng kamay. Sumasakit at namamanhid din ang kalamnan.
Ngunit sa aking pag-aaral, maraming sakit ang puwede magdulot ng sinasabing sintomas ng “pasma.” Dapat iwasan natin ang Mis-diagnosis o yung maling gamutan.
Kadalasan ay ito pala ang mga tunay na sakit ng pasyente. Halimbawa:
1. Arthritis. Osteoarthritis at Rheumatoid Arthritis. – Sumasakit, sumisikip at namamanhid ang kamay sa arthritis. Dahil ito sa pag-edad at sobrang gamit ng kamay at katawan.
2. Carpal tunnel syndrome – pamamanhid ng kamay ang sintomas dulot ng sobrang paglaba, at paggamit ng kamay sa trabaho. May naiipit na median nerve dito.
3. Hyperhidrosis o Sobrang pawisin – Ito ay nagdudulot ng sobrang pagpapawis sa kamay at paa. Puwede sa nerbyos o namamana ito.
4. Lumbar and sacral disease – Sa manhid at masakit ang paa at binti, posible dahil may naiipit na ugat sa likod.
5. Diabetes – Ang diabetes ay nakasisira ng nerves at nagdudulot ng pamamanhid sa paa at kamay.
6. Parkinson’s Disease – Isang sakit ng pag-edad na nanginginig ang kamay (tremors), at hirap maglakad na parang matutumba palagi.
7. Edema from heart and kidney disease – Ang manas ay puwede magmula sa sakit sa puso at kidneys.
8. Varicose veins – Laging nakatayo at nakaupo, at namamana din ang varicose veins. Gumalaw-galaw at magsuot ng compression stockings.

Huwag balewalain ang mga naturang sakit at sabihin na pasma lang. Dapat matukoy kung anong sakit ito para magamot ng maaga at tama. Kumonsulta sa inyong doktor.
May mga ilang payo ang traditional medicine na puwede din gawin at hindi makasasama:
1. Masahe sa kamay at paa.
2. Pagbabad sa tubig na may asin.
3. Pag-iwas sa malamig na tubig.
4. Magpahinga muna ng 30 minutes bago maligo.
