Are you a Support Worker in the Care Industry and struggling to care for yourself with confidence?

Our optimal mental wellness is in essence understanding how to live authentically as our best selves. What defines our best self is unique to each of us and is shaped by how we perceive our own life experiences and circumstances.

At Wingman Support Solutions, we believe that by practicing being the best versions of ourselves, we provide the highest quality of authentic care to our clients.

How can you care for others if you cannot look after yourself? Neglecting our own self-care can cause us to lose our sense of self and lead us to burnout, depression, and anxiety. Improving your care and duties on the job always starts with learning how to be better for yourself.

Wingman Support Solutions appreciates your desire to help better the lives of others in our communities and recognises the challenges that are associated with providing care. We value our Support Workers and aim to guide them towards a new understanding using our own Framework.

We welcome you to join us at our Beenleigh office for a meet-and-greet conversation and snacks. Please refer to our flyer for event information - We look forward to meeting you!

December 3 marks International Day of People with Disability.

When we met Jason, he spoke fondly about the past, reminiscing how he used to go swimming and eat scones made by a grandma and uncle that he cared for.

We listened closely and prepared a day of just that! We supported Jason to step outside his comfort zone and go for a swim for the first time in many years. As you can see, he really enjoyed himself!

Clients always want to feel authentically heard and valued. Our team of trusted Support Workers pay close attention to the needs of our Clients and ultimately guide the Client to obtain what they want while supporting what they need.

Words from our Founder, Tony Hodder

My daughter's death changed my life. The direction of my life changed, as I has to live with the consequences of a systematic hospital error. I was faced with the challenge of trying to regain purpose and find a way to live my life to the fullest, which until this moment I had been very good at.

My daughter's death became the catalyst of my journey. In the beginning, I self-sabotaged and ripped myself apart internally as I suffered immensely. In my suffering, I withdrew and looked within to rediscover myself and my purpose which would become Wingman. Wingman was a new understanding for me and showed me that everything works in self-reflection. I delved into understanding emotional suffering and how to create and manifest it. I found myself with a pivoting question - why was I choosing to continue to suffer after a great deal of time?

It's hard to be self-aware and realise that you are actually choosing to suffer and that your brain is in a constant state of mental anguish to cause you to feel that something is happening to you, but in reality, it's actually something you are continuing to choose to let happen to you.

Life gives us the illusion that one thing of value happens to us at once, however this is indeed an illusion as humans we are systematic thinkers but in reality, multiple things of value are happening at the same time. We have limited consciousness, meaning we all have limited focus.

So we identified the one thing of value that is obvious to everyone and we forget that time is a concept that we now need to be real as you have to process more than one thing to clear those feelings of mental frustration. Death is the final part of the journey for the person who has passed away, but the feelings are still there for the living to process them before moving forward and back into the concept of time to be ok and appreciate what was lost.

Culture is something that is made up of multiple values that extends firstly into family values to then align within our community values and then society values of our country values that unite us all. We have the feeling of being a part of something bigger that we appreciate, choosing to identify where we come from and make part of our self-identity belong to something bigger. One thing I’ve always appreciated about my homeland is the sense of belonging to and appreciating our culture even if you are not directly related to being a Maori. For myself, being Tongan and half European in New Zealand only means that I'm privileged to be a part of more culture that connects us all to be a Kiwi. The sad part that I have learned about our homeland, is we all appreciate it more when we leave it. I found more Kiwis connected in Australia who appreciates being Kiwi than living in New Zealand to appreciate being a Kiwi. The sad part about this is a perception, the truth is in life we are always defined by our circumstances, so once we live back home in NZ we all struggle together within our suffering of a social system that doesn't give us access to more equality of life towards all your values of life experiences that you can have in Australia that changes your circumstances with the facts of having more money to explore your valued connections and relationship to appreciate life.

Everything of value ends, at the same time, something of value begins. As the end and the beginning are always simultaneously happening in the now of the present, my purpose with Wingman is to prove this in multiple ways that the purpose of our existence, is to appreciate our journeys throughout the present and at the same time always appreciate the experience of the past. Wingman encourages us to learn how to adapt and adjust our future for when s**t happens in your now by learning the value of what, why, and how this is needed for you to find or adjust your path of purpose to matter or not to matter as that is your choice to continue to suffer alone. None of us wants this and we can spend our whole life standing still within our suffering or ripping ourselves apart due to the belief 'something bad has happened to me' instead of understanding 'I'm actually now choosing to continue to allow this negative impact define me'. When you discover that you can actually change the negative into positive, you create time for yourself to heal so that you can keep moving forward with purpose. Everything in your life always begins with you and ends with how you choose to respond to how you perceived what happened. The major point of focus that you need to comprehend is how much time do you want to waste choosing to suffer when you have the power to redirect that suffering and save time to allow yourself to heal and appreciate life.

The Wingman team up in Cairns, connecting with local people in the community. We were fortunate enough to meet this local gentleman who busks in the community.

He played during the pandemic at a local garden centre, where he would play to help people calm down. We love to see kind, generous and inspiring people like this gentleman helping others in the community.

The Wingman team headed to Far North Queensland, visiting Cairns and Townsville.

We were lucky enough to work within these communities and gain more understanding of how people were affected by the pandemic.

Our team connected with local businesses, at-risk youth and homeless people who all shared with us their struggles. We offered support, a listening ear and of course a generous meal to feed those in need!

Happy Birthday to my little man, a big 6 today, Justyce is my hidden secret with wingman as I see his future as the evolution of mentally within humanity.

educating people about the Selfs Framework and its Multiple purposes is something I taught my son when he was born, that our feelings guide our lives within our beliefs to look within first with Curiosity and playfulness to self discover the truth of how best to respond with your behaviour of choice and purpose to matter not just for yourself but to respect others at the same time,

what I felt so confident with In the teaching for my son is that there are no wrong feelings only wrong beliefs of information in making a choice of how best to respond at the same time of my lessons for justyce he has been teaching me of my suspicions of a theory that our life choices will always started with you! in regards to any kind of belief is an individual response of how to feel and best action of the ideal response of purpose not just for yourself but everyone and everything else that you may affected within your actions of choice in any environmental conditions that you impact throughout your life in every moment of time you exist.🎁

13 years ago I accidentally identified something within myself that ended up saving my own life. The consciousness understand of self awareness with your own behaviour is only half the puzzle of knowledge, you need to be able to understand all your unconscious responses as well. I didn't have the answers back then, but I was determined to find out, regardless of how long it would take me, I knew I didn't have time to return to university and I felt like the answer would not be there anyway, and believe that with technology advancement I was good enough to research online and work in the field of pain based behaviours of mental health illnesses that trigger all our lives with depressions, grief, sadness, happiness, etc. I never thought or believe that there was anything special about me, but I did believe in my individuality and felt the need to connect to others who have had the same problem as me of trying to live their best life, and then I realised there is something about me, for there is something special about all of us individually, but there is nothing special about how we mechanically work as being a human being as we all work the same, doesn't matter if you are rich, poor, good looking, ugly, fat, muscles, black, white, Asian, Australian, kiwi, etc the list could go on and on as these are values we care about in our lives, but we are focused on the wrong side of the road in how we live to explore our lives to matter for these values we all care about. psychology is only part of the story of how we can live our best selves, the key is our Biology to understand how it influences our own psychology to care about our worth and values to choose to matter within your individuality or to not matter within your individuality that is your choice, people just don't understand this is a choice, and we here at wingman help you help yourself to choose to change, help you with change, educate you in how to change and we practice what we preaching, as all words serve a purpose for the action of behaviour that you preaching and I know how this works now, and now is the time to take wingman up a gear not on my own, but with everyone else who is special and want to matter because they care about themselves and everyone else as well who might be struggling.

Photos from Wingman Support Solutions's post 19/03/2021

An important part of being a mental wellness and support service is also remembering that we matter as well!

Wingman has been learning how to best create its systems of how to help people help themselves, by focusing on people's needs, not their wants.

Take Luke, for example, Luke is currently homeless and has been out of prison for only 4 months. Luke expresses his frustration with the system, how he is struggling to obtain photo ID which would allow him to find a house, job and qualify for a benefit.

Wingman does not just listen or try to help with what you want, we pay attention and focus on what you need.
