✨ New beginnings ✨

Bashfull Beauty has relocated to Highland Park with a fresh new space. Our doors officially opened last week, Tuesday the 9th of April. It has been such an amazing and busy few days, the feedback, love and support has been overflowing.

I would like to thank my husband Matt for helping support me on my vision, talking over ideas and putting in late nights and early mornings. I highly recommend - Brendan and his team have created a beautiful space with attention to detail in every area, you turned a humble granny flat into the most graceful studio. My family and friends for listening and encouraging me on this project and for being there for me at every stage. And to all my beautiful clients for supporting, watching and following along this journey with me, it has been a huge push to get here, but it’s been worth every moment.

Thank you everyone for making my dream come true, I couldn’t have done this without you all. I am forever grateful and I can’t wait for you to visit and enjoy the new place as much as I do 🤍 All my love, Monique x

I feel SO good when I’ve got a little colour on my skin. I absolutely love Techno Tan radiant bronze dry tanning oil, if you haven’t tried it, ask me for a sample next time you’re in the salon, I hope you love it as much as I do! I apply in the morning (usually on a Friday) before going to work, by the time I’m home I’ve got a lovely tanned glow and it lasts well and truely into the next week. Dark enough to need one coat, but natural enough to re-apply after a few days to give it a refresh.

Don’t forget about your feet 👣 I know that as I’m getting older, I can’t get away with neglecting my feet like I once used to. Cracked heels, calluses and dry cuticles are all things that we could do without (hello thirties and beyond) and makes me think that looking after this area of our bodies is probably pretty important, given the busy lives we live.

Mix a few drops of the Environ dermalac lotion with Environ vitamin A, C and E oil together and massage into your feet and hands before going to sleep. This will help to soften rough areas of your skin while adding moisture, and won’t take up any of your time of the evening.

Tis the season to recharge, and give the gift of rest to yourself, so you can actually enjoy the time with loved ones instead of feeling burnt out.

To make your own bath oil, mix your favourite essential oils (I like rose & sandalwood) with coconut, olive, jojoba or almond oil. Set your phone to ‘do not disturb’, choose a relaxing Spotify playlist (Tash Sultana is always a good choice) and enjoy some much needed down time 🤍

Sleep not only is good for our bodies, but helps our skin to regenerate and repair. Sleep regulates the bodies hormones, therefor lack of sleep can throw hormones out of balance which can show up on our skin.

Levels of cortisol drop during sleep, allowing the skin and other organs to regenerate during sleep time. Lack of sleep can Increase cortisol which can break down collagen and elastin which can shows up as wrinkles and sagging skin.

When cortisol levels rise, it can increase oil production and inflammation, both which are contributing factors to acne. High cortisol can also slow down the healing process.
