Did you know Halloween originated in Ireland? It began with Samhain (sow-in), a Celtic festival when spirits crossed over.
Our event brings these legends to life: Muirdris lurks in the depths, The Selkie slips between shorelines, and The Clurichaun guards our cellars - cross him, and your pint may vanish. Beware The Dullahan, our headless rider, and Fáelad, the wolfish warrior.
Join us Thursday 31st October from 5pm for Celtic music, tarot readings, and spooky tales. Prizes for best costumes at 8pm! 🎃🍻
Thursdays are for pints with mates and good vibes! 🍻
Start your weekend early and grab a spot by the bar or out in the beer garden.
First round’s on… well, not us. But we’ll keep it flowing 😉
With 200+ whiskies from Ireland, Tassie, and beyond, there’s always something new to try.
Every Wednesday, a top-shelf pick goes half price - pop in and see what’s pouring next!

You need a Guinness!
Creamy, rich and smooth, it's happiness in a glass.
With great pub grub, amazing drinks and live music all weekend, the craic at the New Syd is as exceptional as the Guinness.
The Tasmania JackJumpers are not only the reigning NBL champs they are also the reigning New Syd Wednesday Night Trivia champs.
Congrats guys, best of luck defending the NBL title (and the New Syd trivia title).
Whether it may be a creamy pint of Guinness, a warm log fire, a hearty meal or the best craic look no further.
The most authentic experience awaits you!

There’s no such thing as a bad day for a Guinness. On that we can agree.
But of the good days, Tuesday September 24th 2024 is one of the best.
For it is the 299th birthday of our patron saint - Arthur Guinness.
The festivities kick off at 5pm with traditional music, free beef & Guinness party pies, fun, games and Guinness prizes.
Oh, we might also have a pint or two.

A roast on Sunday is a tradition we proudly uphold here at the New Syd. All the trimmings, lashings of gravy and a classic cut straight from the oven that we change up each week.
