A huge shoutout to the RunSoc Sunday Gang who participated in the 100km Sri Chinmoy in Canberra! Amazing endurance from He-Shyan, Justin, Mengke, Tim, Will, and Winnie, with Pacers Jessica and Megan helping in the final 20km. Congrats to all!
On Monday, RunSoc's fast relay training session pushed everyone to their limits, prepping for ๐โโ๏ธCity2Surf this Sunday. Great job, everyoneโyour hard work will pay off soon!

RunSoc Goes To Rhodes Parkrun 2024: Run, Volunteer, and Picnic Recap

Thanks to everyone for running, volunteering, and cheering at our Rhodes Parkrun takeover! We had a blast supporting the running community, ending the day with PBs, jolly runs, and a lovely picnic and sausage sizzle. It was great to see members, alumni, and pets ๐พ enjoying the sunny morning. โ๏ธ

This weekend was quite eventful! A massive thank you to all our volunteers at our RunSoc Takeover Picnic! It was a fun-filled event thanks to everyone who made it happen. Congratulations to Jacky Wang for his 25th Volunteer Milestone! Woohoo! ๐๐ฅณ A massive congrats also to the Sutherland2Surf runners on Sunday as well as those who ran RunSoc Sunday on the same day! Featuring RunSocโs longest running event everโ35km along the coast! ๐

Huge achievements to those who came to Monday training! We canโt thank Will Lewis enough for instructing the training events that help runners become speedier! Well done, everyone. ๐๐โโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ Tuesday Bagels was absolutely eventful, with a beautiful and scenic 10km bagels route introduced by Caz, our co-President. Passing the 12km group with a bunch of high-fives was included! We ended the morning with some nice bagels for breakfast! ๐ฅฏ๐

We enjoyed More Moore park on Friday, rounding out the week with a cool, chaotic run. If you dodged horse p**p, lots of bikes and random holes in the grass, and still came out alive, consider me impressed!

Well done to everyone who ran through a picturesque ๐ฅฏBagels this week, with super impressive ๐ธ photos by Jacky W with finally the right sky for a great harbour bridge photo! On Friday, we took on a flex week special with Mossy Mosman. It sure was drizzly however we all had an awesome time splashing through the mud! ๐งฑSunday Trails was surely a ๐ฐCastle on the โฐ๏ธHill when we noticed Rapunzel from her castle watch over us as we hopped and glided through civilized fences ๐ฉโโ๏ธ Well done to everyone who blazed through ๐ชMonday Training preparing for races like City2Surf coming this August! ๐ฅณ

We ran down to Coogee on Friday, which was a lovely change of scenery. The night was cold but our runners brought the heat!๐ฅ๐ฅ๐
Lost and donโt know which Woy to go? Well, our adventurous events director Tim lead us to Woy Woy after joining Wandersoc and Railsoc on a breathtaking journey from Wondabyne. We saw huge waterfalls ๐ and stunning views, rounding out a 16km run under gentle atmospheric rain.

However, this mystery was solved when RunSoc Sunday found a nice yellow swing near Lapstone with stunning lookouts ๐ and the historical Knapsack Viaduct! Amazing coincidence?

We loved seeing everyone from weekโs Parramatta run ๐ ๐๐ปโโ๏ธ and making new memories. After training hard at Monday intervals, we kicked off our Friday evening runs with a visit to VIVID Sydney to see some stunning ๐คฉ lights at the iconic Sydney harbour! ๐๐๐๐
Well done to everyone who also came to bagels ๐ฅฏ (running every Tuesdays 7am) where we were lucky enough to spot ๐Benny the seal ๐ฆญ basking in the sun โ๏ธ๐.

๐๐โโ๏ธ Over last Friday and the weekend, UNSW RunSoc experienced the worldโs second biggest trail-running festival: Ultra Trail Australia! ๐ With tough 11km and 22km courses on Friday as well as the gruelling 50km and 100km on Saturday, some of our runners continued into Sunday morning! ๐ฎ๐ช
We encountered diverse terrain, including many steep and technical ascents and descents, rocky trails, sections of rainforest, farmland, and made so many friends along the way! ๐๏ธ๐ฟ Trail Sundays must have paid off - you were all spectacular! ๐๐
A final massive congratulations to all our UTA22, UTA50, and UTA100 runners this year! ๐
Whether you ran, crewed, or volunteered, we are immensely proud of you. ๐๐

Wings4Life enables us us to participate and run for those who canโt. ๐ฅ๐ซ With donations dedicated to finding a cure for spinal cord injury and scientific research projects for new research, $590 (โฌ360) has been raised by UNSW RunSoc for this life-changing cause.
