Slow and glass are not mutually exclusive these days. Anything Tim Rajeff builds is worth looking at. So when he came up with the Echo Glass Series people took notice. Remember Tim is a caster of some note so nothing leaves Echo without him designing some brilliance into it.
Don't think because this is fibreglass it's floppy like granddad's old 2 pieces of slowness. The Bad Ass Glass was designed to tackle the last fiberglass frontier: big water and big fish. Perfect for big fish from a kayak where the fish don't respect you. Under around the kayak, under a log or just heading for the distance this will stop them. Fighting power - and fiberglass fun.

We have recently got our hands on some quite special books, one being (Wigram's Fly Box). These days, anglers remember Wigram as one of the most significant figures in Australian fly fishing. The Wigram era was a time of unspoiled waters, healthy trout populations, and abundant aquatic insects. This book shows a few of the thousands of flies that Wigram tied over his life time.

The other book being The Klink. This year marks the fly's 40th anniversary and to celebrate the occasion, its creator Hans van Klinken has at last written his long-awaited first book.

There's only about a month left until the Tasmanian brown trout season is back under way, but if you're scratching at the bit to get out for a fish then heading to the coast and chasing some salmon could be a great option for you. A good color of fly for salmon is blue and white. Gear wise all you need is a fly rod between a 6 and an 8 weight, and a floating of sinking line depending on where the salmon are lying in the water, a level leader of around 6kg. If you don't have this gear then check out the link below we have some great rod and reel combos to choose from and they are at a great price.

Huntsman Lake is a great winter fishery. Although there is only a month to go to trout season opening it is good to stretch your line. Huntsman is rising quickly and there are plenty of fish around the edges. If it's calm you will see them - if not you will feel the tug.
A woolly bu**er mk2 or plain black will do the trick. The shallower shores seem best.

Its always nice to see them swim away! This brown trout was caught in a Northern Tasmanian trout stream and was fooled by a size 16 black spinner. There's not many things better then sight fishing a dry fly to a wild Tasmanian brown trout.

This fish was feeding on small mayflies in the tail-out of a slow moving pool. These areas are hard to fish because of having fast moving water next to slow water. A long fine leader will help to eliminate drag but the best way is to get closer to the fish and use a long leader to reach over the faster water. You cant just rush up in behind a fish or you'll spook him so slowly sneaking up behind him is crucial. Using things like having trees or high banks behind you will give you an advantage by covering your silhouette.
