Kids in Connection
Kids in Connection Kids in Connection is about coming back to and making paramount in our classrooms the importance of connecting with children.
It is about bringing a sense of playfulness, lightness and fun back into our classrooms- we are after all working with children and this is their essence. Today teachers are experiencing an ever-increasing workload, they are being faced with children that are displaying more extreme behaviours and being asked to do much more in this role then ever before. Kids in Connection offers support to teach

Not 1, not 2 but 3 green sea turtles will be released tomorrow morning at Lighthouse beach in Ballina.
Numbat, Penguin and Wombat have all suffered from floating syndrome and have had very quick recoveries! They are our three little pigs in the pre release tank and although they will be missed we can’t wait to return them home to the ocean where they belong.
Don’t miss out on this heartwarming event. 10am sharp!

Kids Mini Markets Program-
Over the past three days we have worked with a group of children from 5 to 8 years. In this program the children had to come up with an idea for a market stall, design and make their products, set up a stall and run a mini market.
It was amazing to observe the level of dedication and focus children can have when they are given responsibility and purpose.
The kids were totally focused for 6 hours straight each day, working on developing and carrying out their plans. They knew exactly what they wanted to do and how they wanted to do it. It was very inspiring to watch what children are capable of and the level at which they can work when they are given the opportunity. The children went beyond the original concept they were given and created their own businesses, business logo and money to give their customers to spend at their stall. Without any prompting they brought in bags for their customers purchases, made their own cash registers, worked out how customers could purchase their goods and made a wallet for each customer and as a group they worked together to put the money they had made into the wallet for each person.
So often during the school holidays we can fall into the trap of thinking we need to 'entertain' kids however what this program showed is that children ignite more when they are connected to and given a purpose where they feel that they can contribute and where their ideas are valued.
Kids Mini Market Program
This program is about supporting children to have a purpose and work together. Today was Day 1 of the program and it was amazing to watch the children get to work planning their ideas for their market stalls then watching them work and create all day in a very focused way. From working out how to solve problems, to creating their own 'industries', to discussing recipes people might like and making their own cash registers, signs and entertainment- it was a very productive day and great to see how kids naturally engage, work together and use their initiative when they are given the space to do so.
