Our Deadly Team are at the Community Connect Expo at Mabel Park State High School this afternoon,2:30-4:30pm yarning with community about Gunya Meta’s services and programs!

Gunya Meta supports Kmart Deadly Store Kmart Logan Hyperdome by collaborating with the Queensland Indigenous Employment Advisor and store managers to showcase and promote First Nations literature. This showcase, which includes resources from Gunya Meta, is currently on display at the Loganholme Kmart store.

Housing Yarns - Community Response Officer (CRO)
** Identified position **
(16 hours per week - contract until June 2025)

The Community Response Officer will report to the Project Leader and Gunya Meta CEO
The purpose of the Community Response Officer will include but not be limited to:
• developing skills and fulfilling community expectations as well as project management functions
• supporting community and Elders to have Voice on housing and homelessness issues in Logan, through a range of opportunities and initiatives
• fulfilling project work and providing transparency to community and stakeholders on identified project goals.

Gunya Meta office will be closed tomorrow Friday 2nd August for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children’s Day event. This event is open to the community so please come along and enjoy a celebration of Indigenous culture, including a Traditional Welcome to Country, Smoking ceremony and Torres Strait Islander Blessing. There will be a range of activities available for children to engage in.

Children’s Day will be happening at Logan Gardens on Friday 02/08/2024 morning. Hope to see you all there :)

Money from each ticket sold will go to Shailer Park SHS to create an outdoor space for all our students to connect with each other.
