Today is Sorry Day, a time to stop, reflect, and remember the members of the Stolen Generation.
To reflect on the intergenerational trauma that has been caused, not by war, not by fleeing unsafe homelands to safety, but by being removed from people and places that were already safe.
Sorry Day marks an important moment in Australian history – a reminder that Reconciliation is a journey that starts with the recognition that we all have a part to play to move forward together.
How will you mark this important day?

Introducing Emma 👋
Emma joined Harmony Place in 2018 volunteering while finishing her Bachelor of Psychology, and has been a Support Facilitator in our mental health program since January 2019.
Emma is passionate about supporting participants with various mental health concerns from culturally diverse backgrounds in their individual recovery journeys, understanding that all people have different needs.
Throughout her time at Harmony Place, Emma has worked with clients from many different backgrounds, and enjoys learning about and embracing their cultural practices and traditions.
Emma recognises that there are many barriers faced by these people while trying to access appropriate supports, so is driven to facilitate connections to relevant health professionals, and advocate for participant’s wellbeing.
Emma is currently completing further studies in psychology to increase her mental health knowledge and help participants even further.
Outside of work Emma enjoys travelling, beach days and hanging out with her family and two cats.
