Happy Father’s Day to two of the best ❤️ We’re so incredibly blessed to call you ours.
My Dad used to play this song every morning (the Jimmy Barnes version, of course) and we’d all dance around the living room before school. That’s some wholesome sh*% right there.
How many attempts does it take to make a lunch?
Attempt #1: See above.
Attempt #2: Oops. The oven wasn’t on.
Attempt #3: Perfection. No one ate them. In the bin.
We run an ADHD professionals network if you’d like to join! (It’s catered).
All RED everything for World Blood Donor Day. 💃🏻
I don’t rock a camel toe for just anyone. This one’s dedicated to the bravest girl, SJ , who’s had 30 blood transfusions on her leukaemia journey so far.
It’s so easy to donate but it means the WORLD to those who need it.
Visit and register to donate with team ‘Bush to Beach for SJ’.
And follow SJ’s dad’s incredible 600km walk from Inverell to Terrigal
I have less and less patience with adults who are adamant that they have already learnt everything they need to learn in their career.
Things change.
Information changes.
Society changes.
What I learned about Autistic kids at uni 10+ years ago was absolute rubbish. None of that info holds up today.
Even the stuff being taught a few years ago. Even the stuff being taught by non-Autistic lecturers now.
We need to stay on top of it.
We need to get our info from the right places.
Telling me 'I've been doing this job for 20 years' does not fill me with confidence. It tells me that you have been working with harmful information from way back. And I hope you have done some Autistic-led PD recently and changed your practice. But more often than not, that's not the case.
Why are so many adults afraid to unlearn the harmful, outdated stuff?
I don't understand?
Em 🤷♀️
My spirit animal. God I love her 😂
Have you seen her documentary? In it she talks about her ADHD and the trauma she experienced being sent to troubled teen programs. I have so much respect for her.
Accepting my differences has been my life’s work. Along the way I’ve overcome self harm, bulimia, alcoholism, approval addiction, constant overwhelm, burnout, crippling self doubt… The list goes on. But it’s one that’s common to so many ADHDers.
I often have people ask me how I got to the other side of all that. It’s a hard one to answer. It didn’t happen in an instant. It’s been many things along the way. But these 4 are the cornerstones. The foundation for everything else.
I text this to a friend this morning and I thought it might be worth sharing with you. Is there anything you’d add to the list?
Start your day right, they say! If only it wasn’t so difficult to boil an egg… 🥚

I need a lady to come clean my house and to do it right!!! 😑😑😑😡😡
I don't like to speak badly about anyone but the lady I currently have is always tired🤦🏼♀️ and gets distracted.
When she does the laundry, it takes her a few days because she forgets to take them out the washer so she has to keep rewashing.
If it's about ironing clothes, no way, she is not doing it!
Instead, she puts them in the dryer 🙄
More than cleaning, she is always in the pantry, looking for something to eat 🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️
She does the work slowly (reluctantly) and moves from room to room without finishing.
BTW - That lady is me! 😭🤣
That's why I'm looking for another one!!🤣🤣
I stole this post, but it's so true! 😂😂
🥰 It’s true. Many of the tools and strategies that work now, won’t work forever. With our interest-based brain wiring, at the point something becomes mundane or boring, it’s reached the danger zone. But because we know that, we can plan for it! No stress 🏝️
As a recovering perfectionist, this is my mantra. Without this approach, cleaning, posting, admin, exercising, habit formation… it just wouldn’t happen.
Where is perfectionism getting in your way? What would ‘good enough’ look like instead?
Quite honestly, it’s just a process of helping people to find their own solutions.
If I told ADHDers what to do, it wouldn’t work. We don’t like it. We dig our heels in. And then even if we WERE going to do it that way, now we have to come up with a more original way of doing it. So it’s you who does the real work. I just get to ask the questions and marvel at your genius as you work it out. 🤩
The horrors persist, but so do I… New album THE TORTURED ADHDERS DEPARTMENT. Out whenever I get around to it. 🦄

There are WAY more books I’d recommend but space was limited. More to come. Which books would you add to the ‘recommend’ list?
Dopamine is everywhere! You can find it in food, alcohol, gaming, s x, relationships, rabbit holes - you name it. But if you’re struggling to deal with a doom pile (or something equally as dull), here are 5 sources that won’t end in a hangover, a food coma or a baby.
Could I love my job more? (No. No I could not.)
When it comes to ADHD, self compassion is king. Let’s discuss this idea in the comments.
End of the week giggle, because our impulsivity (ie interrupting and going down ADHD rabbit holes) reached a new level in group this week. 🧠😂
I will keep us on track better next week thanks to the group collaboratively building some ways to stay on track. As the famous DBT saying goes: we all have an inner wisdom; we are all trying our best AND can do better ✨
When you start to view your past through the lens of ADHD, these situations make a lot more sense.
A conversation between two perimenopausal ADHD women 😂
Highly recommend mining your Facebook memories for pre-diagnosis comedy gold.
Did I mention it’s also one of life’s great pleasures? Who doesn’t love an awkward moment? 😂
Came across this on my walk. Couldn’t help but wonder… 😂
The Legend of the Christmas Pickle.
With the enormous surge in adults seeking assessment and supports for ADHD, I’m very excited to be co-hosting a new ADHD Community of Practice on the Sunshine Coast 🥳
If you’re local, I’d love it if you’d help to get the word out by sharing this invitation with your Psychiatrist, Psychologist, G.P., O.T., Speech & Language Therapist, Inclusion Support Educator - or any other professional with a specific interest in ADHD. We need voices from every discipline 🫶
Let me know if I can answer any questions for you. In the meantime, you can find me stewing in nervous excitement.
It’s Mental Health Week.
Did you know that of those diagnosed with ADHD, approximately 80% are also diagnosed with a co-occurring mental health condition? ADHDers also have significantly higher rates of:
- substance abuse
- eating disorders
- anxiety
- depression
- OCD
- self harm
- su***de.
Speaking from personal experience, I’ve been affected by most of those listed, so I don’t take this lightly.
If you’re on the Sunshine Coast, come join us for some informative fun.
Another news clip on the ADHD Guidelines. Even a word from my fabulous mentor, Michele Toner.
The gorgeous Maddi Derrick of Hobart ADHD Consultants talks about today’s release of Australia’s first clinical guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of ADHD. SO exciting to think about what this means moving forward.
You GUYS! As of today and for the first time, Australia now has their very own ADHD treatment guidelines!! And right in time for ADHD Awareness Month. Big thank you to for the time and effort involved in bringing this to life.
If you’re currently being treated for ADHD in Australia, make sure you share the guidelines with your various practitioners to ensure their interventions are aligned with the latest evidence.
