Referrals are still open for the Adinkrahene Men's group, now delivered via one on one sessions.
Watch our latest workshop on the topic of Substance Use. Part 1 features the lovely Mel from her service ❤️
AAYC' second topic is on the issue of 'substance misuse'.
Substance use is another stigmatised topic in the African Australian culture. When someone struggles with alcohol or drug abuse, there is shame and judgement associated with this.
As a result, many people can lack the courage to seek professional help and support to address their needs.
I am excited to introduce AAYC's first mini workshop topic on 'self identity'.
This will include a series of subtopics relating to this subject which will be featured on our social media pages.
AAYC conducted an interview with the gracious Ghanaian Australian celebrity , on his experiences working and studying in Australia throughout his youth and adulthood as an African man.
The purpose of this video was to highlight and capture the real experiences felt by African's living in Australia, creating a safe space to be open about their lives experience.
Thankfully we are noticing a shift in the workspace lately by acknowledging cultural diversity and applying inclusion methods.
AAYC would love to thank Akwasi for his time and contribution sharing his experiences.❤️❤️
2nd generation Ghanaian Australian children embracing their cultural heritage. Meet my lovely neice and nephew sharing their knowledge of the Ghanaian culture.
AAYC encourages parents and relatives to continue sharing information about the African culture to the next generation.
We want to leave a good legacy behind. ✊🏾

Values are important features of our personality and our lives. They impact our decision making and actions.
Our values are influenced by our African culture through learnings and teachings from our grandparents, parents and community elders.
As African young adults, let's work on matching our values with our actions and behaviours in our community.
Gambling Awareness Week 2021. The theme is Talk, Share, Support. There is stigma associated with gambling in our young adult African community.
Let's raise awareness of gambling harm, educate our community and assist with reducing the stigma associated with gambling in our young adult African community.
People experience emotional effects from gambling such as regret, stress and guilt.
Some common gambling harm includes financial difficulties, relationship issues, work or study performance issues and emotional and psychological problems.
