Expression Australia are honoured to be the charity of choice for this year’s Moomba Festival Monarch, Emma Watkins, in the Birdman Rally! The Birdman Rally is a long running Moomba Festival tradition, with people attempting to fly over the Yarra River in homemade flying machines for charity.
Emma Memma is a trailblazer for Auslan access and inclusion in children’s music and entertainment. She will take to the sky this year to raise funds for Expression Australia in a joint effort to support every Deaf child’s right to sign language.
It’s critical that Deaf children are given the opportunity to learn Auslan early in life as it not only provides them with language skills, but also an increased quality of life well beyond their childhood. We’re proud to be working together to stop language deprivation by ensuring Deaf children are given access to Auslan.
To show your support, visit the link below for the Birdman Rally fundraising page, and be sure to watch the event on Sunday the 10th of March at 11am.
