ONE PLANET makes world-class gear, specialising in rucksacks, sleeping bags and tents for the outdoor and travel markets. Mostly Australian made. Make it work.
Our philosophy is simple:
Make it good. Make it last. At ONE PLANET we make outdoor and travel gear with integrity. You won't find excessive pockets, irrelevant features, inappropriate materials or construction; just well-made, clean and simple designs that work. In an industry where local manufacturing is almost extinct and importing from Asia is the norm, One Planet still proudly manufactures the majority of its products in Australia. https://oneplanet.au/
Introducing our latest and lightest summer-weight sleeping bag...
The Nitrous weighs in at a tiny 554 grams for the -1 rated, regular-sized model. (You did read that right: it's super light.) With a snug mummy shape and DWR-coated V2 shell fabric, it's also soft, warm and snuggly. Tested to EN13537, with IDFL-audited, 800-loft down and still made in Australia. It is also compatibility with our Quest quilt, which attaches securely inside the Nitrous to give a -10 bag that weighs less than a kilogram.
Pleased to meet you.

The One Planet Quest quilt is perfect for that lightweight summer walk you're planning. It's tiny and light - 420 grams for a regular - and is easily secured around any sleeping mat for warmth in mild conditions.
It also attaches inside four of our other sleeping bags to give them a boost for year round use. With this system, you can choose what to carry for the warmth you need, making it the gift that keeps on giving...

Beat’s Guide to Australia’s most beautiful camping destinations
If you want some inspiration for camping spots for the coming holidays, look no further. BEAT magazine has put together a short list of some of Australia's most beautiful destinations (we know there are many more).
There'll no doubt be some disagreement about the inclusions and exclusions, but that's all part of the fun. We aim to inspire...
beat.com.au There’s nothing more liberating than packing your tent and hitting the dusty trail with not a plan devised.
We love a good story about a lack of blisters!
'I've just returned from a two week trekking trip, on which I took a brand new pair of Douglas boots. (Well, not quite new. I 'wore them in' for at least two hours before I left.)
Pretty stupid, right? Especially seeing as I'm a blister queen - I've had more than my share. Blood blisters on the soles of my feet, massive ones on the front of my shins, I've lost four toenails, and had my whole heel become a massive ball of pain.
Not on this trip - not a single one. The boots were comfortable, supportive and grippy on moraine, rocks, dirt and yak pooh. I love my One Planet boots!'
Thanks Meg, glad they did the job.

Here's a new one - a bushwalker who dresses to match her pack. Next there will be hoards of people taking to the Australian Alps in their walking skirts, just like in Europe...
Ashleigh Joy explains: 'I introduced my friend Jess to overnight bushwalking last week after she'd been kitted out with one of your Styx packs thanks to the excellent service at Find Your Feet in Hobart. Turns out, she likes her pack so much she dressed like it! Photo was taken on Cooks Beach in Freycinet National Park.'
You too can dress like a Styx pack. Check out the photos for colours and costume inspiration here: www.oneplanet.com.au/product/packs/bushwalking/styx/

Thought we'd repost a little endorsement from Andrew Barnes, photographer extraordinaire and all-round good bloke, who runs the East Gippsland Outdoors page.
'I am sponsored by four businesses that provide quality equipment and service. The first to be detailed is One Planet, who has sponsored me for 26 years. One Planet outdoor gear is incredible quality and what is impressive is that they still manufacture 80 percent of their gear in Melbourne. That means Aussies are employed!
This photo shows a rucksack, backpack, daypack, sleeping bag and waterproof jacket that have been used for 15 to 26 years to go backcountry skiing, whitewater kayaking, bushwalking, mountain biking, photographing etc in America, Canada, New Zealand and Australia. All of them are still incredible quality! And the yellow and black backpack has been used for quarter of a century to carry the camera equipment. And, a new tent that has proved to be waterproof when the weather is gnarly!
If you want quality gear for your outdoor adventures, I do recommend that you check out One Planet.'
Thanks for the kind words, Andrew!
The gear world can get confusing. Here's our attempt to demystify it, for our Synapse clothing at least.

Ornithologists we ain't, but we did some great spotting here! That One Planet pack is holding its own against a cheeky NZ weka bird. We found it on page 18 of the July edition of Wilderness Magazine.
Sleeping bags have always been the classic, and quilts the newbie on the block. Each has its advantage, but what if you could have both?
We're staying ahead of the game: our Quest quilt can attach inside the Nitrous sleeping bag. It's like a liner, but really warm, turning the -1 Nitrous into a -10 bag. They can be used together or separately as adventure dictates. Of course they are also tested to EN13537 and use IDFL audited down.

This quote is seen by 24 young people and 6 staff members (almost) every week of every year at Wollangarra Outdoor Education Centre. For many years One Planet and Wollongara have worked together, supporting outdoor adventures and helping people to find a home in the wilderness. Just one small part of the wider outdoor education and adventure community. A big thank you to all the Wollongara students and staff, past and present and cheers to Catherine for the image and inspiration.
A perfect way to spend a holiday? Australia and AiKing/One Planet in fine form. Like you, we've been around a while...
