Today at La Trobe College Australia staff, students and our LTU partners joined together to form the letter “W” to show our support for Women.
“We chose to mark the occasion in this way to form a readily understood and visual display of our allyship and support” said Petar Stojanovic, Director of Studies La Trobe College Australia.
“The transformative power of pathway education has always been a vehicle for uplifting women, who uplift communities. As with most Navitas colleges, over half of our student body is female, not to mention staff, colleagues and partners. It was important to us that our message could be understood not only in text, but visually as well given our significant International and English language student population.”
Here’s to women. May we know them. May we be them. May we raise them. May we invest in them.

A week saw a very warm welcome to our new international and domestic students! Hundreds of new students participated enthusiastically in Orientation and Enrolment Week activities including Sports Day, Social Club Day amongst others. It was fantastic to see so many students making new friends even before they started classes!
A big thank you to our Indonesian IISMA scholarship students for planting a tree today outside the Sylvia Walton Building at the La Trobe Melbourne campus. The tree is not only their contribution to our green campus - but also acts as a living memento and gesture of thanks to the College for providing such a rewarding and enjoyable learning experience over the last 12 weeks. Now we can look at the tree and always remember our lovely IISMA students!

This week is National Reconciliation Week. It's a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia.
This year's theme 'Be a Voice for Generations' encourages all Australians to be a voice for reconciliation in tangible ways throughout our lives.
La Trobe College Australia acknowledges the mistreatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who were forcibly removed from their families and communities, which we now know as The Stolen Generations. National Sorry Day is a day to recognise the strength of the Stolen Generation Survivors, and La Trobe College Australia acknowledges the resilience of First Nations peoples and commitment to walking alongside First Nations peoples on the path to healing.
A big thanks to the team from Wish International Melbourne Office for visiting us for a campus tour.

On Friday, La Trobe College Australia hosted the English Australia Vic Advisors network meeting at the La Trobe University city campus.
Born from the English Australia Mental Health Special Interest Group, Vic Advisors is an open network of student facing staff in Victorian-based EA Member Centres who may support students on a range welfare matters, including: areas such as mental health, LGBTQIA+ and gender identity, cultural integration, homesickness, accommodation among a host of other whole-of-student matters.
The session, hosted by LTCA Director or Studies, Petar Stojanovic, and Student and Academic Services Manager, Niki Kim, was attended by student advisors, counsellors, student services staff, teachers and other staff who support students with welfare matters.
For those EA member college staff who are interested in joining the Vic Advisors network, or the Wellbeing SIG, contact [email protected]

Wishing all our friends and colleagues peace and blessings during the Holy Month of Ramadan✨
Earlier this month La Trobe College Australia hosted students from Morinomiya University of Medical Sciences in Osaka, Japan.
The study tour program was a great opportunity for students to visit departments in the School of Allied Health, Human Services and Sport like Podiatry, Prosthetics and Orthotics as well as La Trobe University’s famed School of Nursing and Midwifery.
While the students had an absolute ball visiting the various schools and doing their tailor-made ‘English for Medical Professionals’ course, we think perhaps they most enjoyed taking in the sights and sounds of Melbourne and sipping on flat whites!
In their Program Experience Surveys, the students feedback came in with a whopping satisfaction score of 94.6%!
Why did they love us so much? Well, according to their feedback:
⭐️The students love us because we provide a tailored experience
⭐️We offer a blend of social and academic activities
⭐️Department visits were very popular, insofar as this group requested more of them!
⭐️Students loved interacting with LTU staff and students, saying “everyone we met was so kind and helpful!”
Don’t believe us? Check out those big smiles!
What’s the best thing about studying in Australia? The friends and experiences of course! 😃
This week, we are joined by our Study Tour group from Morinomiya University of Medical Sciences.
During their stay, the students are taking a tailored “English for Medical Practitioners” course and visiting Health Sciences departments on campus at La Trobe University
One of the lucky students even got to celebrate her birthday down under!
Welcome back to our international students 🥳
Thank you Study Melbourne and La Trobe University for helping us make this day memorable for our La Trobe College Australia students!
