IAYMH2022 - The session
Do you have a bold idea that will have big impacts?
Do you have an idea that will change the youth mental health landscape as we know it?
Do you have a disruptive or high-risk idea that you have often wondered about, but have been too afraid to share?
Fear no more! Share it with us. No idea is too big, too bold, or too risky. Your idea could be anything. It could be conceptual, a project, a product, a new way to help ourselves or others, or a cool new strategy...
Ready to share? Don’t wait! Before and during the conference, we invite you to share these ideas with others. Your IAYMH community is ready and waiting to like, retweet, and engage with these !
Before this session, the facilitators will review your BIG IDEAS and during the session we will invite a few idea generators to talk more about their BIG IDEAS to others. Attendees will discuss common strands between ideas, engage with a few BIG IDEAS, champion their favorite BIG IDEAS, and discuss ways to carry forward BIG IDEAS beyond !
We welcome and encourage contributions from across the IAYMH community - not just those that are attending the conference.
This is just the beginning!
How can I submit a BIG IDEA?

Our Story
Advocating and collaborating for the mental health needs of young people around the world.
The International Association for Youth Mental Health (IAYMH) is a membership-based organisation for professionals, researchers, organisations, policy makers, young people and their families.
The IAYMH’s mission is to change the way the global community thinks about young people and their mental health. We want to do this by ensuring youth mental health services are appropriate to a young person’s age and stage of development, and that young people have an active voice in determining what is best for them.
IAYMH aims to:
- Ensure mental health services are more responsive to the health needs of young people across the world.
- Promote public and professional interest in the mental health and wellbeing of young people aged 12-25.
- Strive for systems change which delivers an age and stage-appropriate service response for young people, their families and carers.
- Meaningfully engage young people and their parents in our advocacy for system change.
- Foster international collaboration and communication between individuals and organisations working to improve the health and wellbeing of young people.
- Use evidence-informed practices wherever possible.
- Highlight new research and best practice in the youth mental health field.
Every two years, the IAYMH hosts an international conference in a different global city. Unlike traditional medical research conferences, the IAYMH event is planned and delivered in partnership with young people.
