Intuitive Bodywork

I allow the bodywork to unfold as uniquely as the circumstances that have drawn you towards receiving a massage from me.

I offer a treatment that incorporates the subtle energetic, deep listening & firm bodywork. Intuitive bodywork invites you to enter your inner space. Forward to about 8 minutes... This is what has felt necessary for me this full moon.
Releasing dynamics!!!
Finding a willingness for dynamic's to shift. 🤯

I've had the inner guidance recently to spend my mornings apon waking imagining what I want sensing how I want my life to FEEL. I spend those first few quiet minutes imaging & feeling into a future I'd like to create for myself. Sensing, dreaming & breathing into what's important for me to feel.

This has helped take away much of the confusion around who & how. I've simply wanted clarity for what is true for me. What do I value. Where during this 'mid life' do I want to set my inner direction. ⛵
Before I flip into burn it all down! 🤦😂🔥 (Which can be necessary too but actually feels like the easier option.)

A friend put me onto this lady, her passion is authenticity.

Let go of the how's get some clarity... Make small better choices that align with what your sailing towards. Thats what's been coming loudly for me.
Hope thats useful. 💗🙏

The hag at the edge of the world
Is often misunderstood.

For many, she is dry, haggard, sagging skin, bag of bones, wrinkles, demolishing, fierce. Something to avoid.

As women, mid-life-ing, moving towards our eldering years, she can bring us to the edge of our fears around aging and beauty. The edge of our mortality. The edge of what it means to grow old. These edges can be extremely difficult to confront when our social conditioning shows a picture of youthfulness and beauty in its maiden or mothering and or sensual woman forms.

Newsflash: we don’t age chronologically only. There are different systems to tend internally, like a garden, that ripen, mature, sprout, wither, transform in their own rhythm and timing.

In every maiden is a hag at the edge of the world. And in every hag, there is a maiden.

The Hag, to me, is a vast and wonderfully potent conglomeration of contradictions, paradox and possibility. Her hair is the glittering stars. She knows the secrets of the dark deep roots and plants that fruit in the night beneath a full moon. She knows the power and potency of death because she knows that death is always the edge of new life. She breathes the forms as they shapeshift. She churns us into new stories. She churns us into bones or butter.

She is the wise old growth forests decaying and rejuvenating. She is ancient and cosmic wisdom. She is Eros in its stillness after the glow. She is that which gives you grit when the pearl has been found and plucked, but another pearl has yet to be formed and discovered .

She is integral to your becoming-
Whether you are a woman or a man or fluid and in between. She is she who stands at the edge of the world. Sometime, you do too. During transition. Times of loss. Change. She’s a truthful guide when you can’t find your compass.

I asked my internally conflicted male client...“Have you ever watched an 80's movie with your kids and thought oh my god I didn't realise how inappropriate this movie was!?”

Its a great way to gain insight providing a portion of the map from the worldview you grew up in. From this you took instruction as you began to lay down the foundation for your inner world. Ideas about where you should place value and what kind of character you should play within this game of life were shaped through this time.

But now you feel conflicted because to let go of these ideas means taking apart all that you have built up into this role you are now playing.

It means feeling the shame you carry of not being 'good enough'. Your learning how to be different and the world is already demanding that you be different... now! Its calling your masculinity toxic. You know being masculine is not toxic. But you know part of your masculinity is pretending to be 'the man', the man you looked up too.

Who is now like that 80's movie considered inappropriate or immature.

What I notice the 'primary script' within my male clients is a fear of 'not being good enough.' Interchange 'good' with 'not being man enough' and I start to get a sense of what the masculine is truly being called to grow through. As what it is to be masculine collectively no matter your gender the blueprint for masculinity is being transformed.
Internally many of our men are experiencing internal conflict as they are moving through incredible layers of shame and grief as they seek to reintegrate rejected parts of themselves within, ie all things feminine.

An immovable tree has roots that gently weave through the soil, it sways with the breeze and will drop limbs when needed.
Even a boulder absorbs and releases moisture.
Things that at first might appear fixed or solid must work within the elements of their environment.
Masculine and feminine are already interwoven.

Your only recovering what is already there, you are readjusting how to value and honour the feminine within.

The environment is changing, so it may be time to drop a limb or sit quietly and let the deeply held water seep out.
Let your focus be less about what you are letting go of...
and more about what you will let in.

Regain and reclaim your wholehearted self.

# onslaught of talks around masculinity to follow!

This was an unexpected client who booked from a long outstanding gift voucher typically they see an osteopath or physiotherapist. A practical professional!
However they were so super grateful for their session they wanted to extend the time. (Did they say another hour or day? 🤭)
I couldn't be more thrilled or affirmed to see this review as the clients receptivity to ancestral healing & self reflection through bodywork was as courageous as the physical pressure (Lovingly inflicted.)

Release getting ready for re alignment.

Today I felt the strength of this mountain, she was with me. 💗
Its day one, I'm back to work.
There have been tears flowing between us, its been powerful.
And its exhausting, getting real, solidly moving through uncertainty, vulnerability. Finding what's been missing, Returning to love.
Loving my work, my family, myself... Questioning the order I chose to write that in! 🤦
I feel clear & messy at the same time.
Personally I'm questioning chaos & trust, alongside intent.
As I create the container for things to bubble to the surface.

My calendar is full this week.
I've done 2 days back in Aus without coffee & already have regrets! 😂
Do I be strong & wait this out?

I still need to find better ways to sustain myself to keep doing this work in a connected way.

To be steady like the mountain to draw down and in and to uplift. To honour my energy first with kind of containment thats not disconnection.

Are you questioning too?
Looking for small do able shifts? Tweaking your alignment.
I dont have the answers, but you do!! They are just waiting for some time to reveal themselves.

✨Bookings available 30th July.
1st & 2nd August during school hours + evening times available.✨
Book now.

For those of you who dont know I grew up in Dunedin. I was a Pakeha girl growing up with brown skin & being asked where I whakapapa from. As a result I never quiet felt like I belonged.
I've done a lot of inner work since leaving NZ in 2000 around shame & feelings of being displaced.
When I began joining wananga teachings around maori spirituality & learning traditional bodywork I felt meet in my shame by other participants.
I understand my journey can only be experienced through my eyes, but the cultural lense & teachings from wananga allowed me to experience shame moving in both directions.
Both victim and perpetrator.
But perhaps that was the strange middle ground I inhabited.
I experienced judgement from both, I was constantly being asked where I belonged?

During my visit home I have been called 'a stating my claim Maori princess' from a self proclaimed redneck. And I have been offered
knowledge of female Atua from a women with deep roots to the area from which I come.
I've been both judged & welcomed regardless of my bloodlines.

People aside although know...
I love my parents & brothers.
I love my friends.
They are the reason for my holiday.

But my visit home has returned me to my land.
A privilege not everyone has.

My land has welcomed me,
Winds have blown.
The sun has shone.
Snow has fallen.
The ocean has churned.
Clouds have rolled overhead, white, grey & pink.
Fog has allowed the Earth & sky to touch.
The skies have been vast & protective.

Rock beings have opened my heart & felt like friends.
Forces have been directing my journey weaving inner & outer to reach & teach me.
Hidden paces have surfaced.

This land made me, it shaped my path, it grew me.

The land has welcomed me back. It hasnt asked me where I come from.
Or to chose a side.
We belong to each other.

It will be hard to leave this place again.

"I think it's a deep consolation to know that spiders dream, that monkeys tease predators, that dolphins have accents, that lions can be scared silly by a lone mongoose, that otters hold hands, and ants bury their dead. That there isn't their life and our life. Nor your life and my life.
That it's just one teetering and endless thread and all of us, all of us, are entangled with it as deep as entanglement goes."

Grief

I had my own notion of grief.
I thought it was the sad time
That followed the death of someone you love.
And you had to push through it
To get to the other side.
But I'm learning there is no other side.
There is no pushing through.
But rather,
There is absorption.
Adjustment.
Acceptance.
And grief is not something you complete,
But rather, you endure.
Grief is not a task to finish
And move on,
But an element of yourself-
An alteration of your being.
A new way of seeing.
A new definition of self.

We're in Waring, one of our favourite seasons!

The Wurundjeri Indigenous seasonal cycle recognises seven distinct weather periods that occur across the year. Known as Wombat season in the calendar, cool and rainy days follow misty mornings from April until July. Days are short, and nights are long. Wombats emerge from their burrows, and the temperatures are low.

Our Story

Mirimiri is a powerful ancient traditional Maori healing modality from Aotearoa (New Zealand).

Mirimiri is described by traditional healer ‘Papa Jo’ as “the movement of spiritual energy”.

It can be seen in the oceans waves. Like waves come and go from the shore., this agitation to move spiritual energy is an essential quality of bodywork.

Our major aid in healing is Earth Mother Papatuanuku she assists us, we use many tools provided by her raumiri/ branches & leaves, rakau/ wood, kohatu/ stones. When we connect to her we ground, resetting our nervous system through the whenua/ land. Just as babies learn to regulate themselves through their mother. We can come to ours to regulate and stimulate our bodies systems.
