Are you a PALM scheme worker interested in building your skills?
The Australia Pacific Training Coalition (APTC) offers free online micro-credential courses through TAFE Queensland that you can access using a laptop or mobile device.
Most courses are 2-3 hours long and can be completed anywhere and at any time. They cover topics like digital literacy, employability skills and workplace leadership.
You will need an online profile to get started. You may wish to ask your employer for support if you need help making a profile.

Small awareness nma........
❌WARNING TO MYGOV / MYTAX USERS❌
(The snapshot below is an actual claim made by someone we’ve warned many times )
We have noticed a high number of seasonal workers claiming $53,000 in deductions via mygov/ mytax. The excuse of someone else doing it for you won’t be good enough
We’ve been notified by the ATO and those responsible will be liable for fraud and failure to take reasonable care and reckless in filing their tax returns
It’s better to get a tax refund that you are entitled to rather than being greedy and get dragged in the courts.
We know who you are and prepare yourself for an ATO audit . It’s coming your way
Unfortunately we won’t be able to help you as you’ve have been warned many times .

Good Evening beautiful people......
Game 3 Decider of the State of Origin is tonight,
vs
Whatever the outcome, i just wanna thank the Australian government for the opportunity to come and work in Australia, under the PALM scheme.
I grew up watching the state of origin and been a fan ever since. From watching the game on TV in the islands, to watching the game live in the stadium
for the first time, It was a dream come true........
Without the PALM scheme i think i would never have had the chance to experience this. And I know some of us who are here working under the scheme can say the same based on their experiences here in Australia........
Go the BLUES 🫡
Another great example guys, thumbs up brother keep going 👍 👏 👌 🫡
Sebastiano is from Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands and is currently employed by Bulmer Farms in Lindenow, Victoria.
He is one of many Solomon Island PALM scheme workers in Australia filling workforce shortages in the horticulture industry.
Sebastiano has expanded his skills set since arriving in Australia and now works as an all-rounder on the farm.
“Here we rotate teams, I work in the harvest team and cut lettuce, we move around, drive the tractors on the farm. Bulmer Farms taught me how to do all those jobs,” he said.
Now in his mid-forties, Sebastiano is one of the more mature workers on the team and has become a mentor for younger PALM scheme workers arriving for the first time.
“Since starting the job, I learnt everything from scratch, it was hard cutting lettuce at first, they showed me how to cut, I didn’t know and made mistakes at the beginning, but then they showed me more and now I teach others.”
Sebastiano said PALM scheme workers from Solomon Islands bring a strong work ethic.
“There is a saying in the Solomon Islands ‘look and learn’ - you show them, and they learn fast.
“Everybody is dreaming of coming to Australia and keen to do well, we are proud people, even though people worry the job will be hard, Solomon Island people are optimistic and say, ‘just go try it!’” he added.
Sebastiano has just finished building a house and plans is to rent it out to earn extra income for his family while he works in Australia.

Too good brother. 👍 👏 kaen otta story osem na umi needim..........
Workers from Solomon Islands are filling critical roles in a wide range of industry sectors in Australia dealing with workforce shortages.
Meat processing is one sector that has benefited from the support of long-term workers from Solomon Islands employed through the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme.
Workers like Junior (pictured) have quickly impressed their managers with their eagerness to learn and ability to observe and quickly learn new skills.
“When I came here in the first week, I learnt by following the other workers on the floor. By the second week we started moving and handling the livestock and learning how to handle a saw, I’m now working in the chiller section.
“It was hard at first, but when I do it every day it's easier, now I can do my work by myself and confidently.
“Solomon Islanders are strong workers and well disciplined,” said Junior.
You can find out more about recruiting workers from the Solomon Islands on the PALM scheme website: https://www.palmscheme.gov.au/countries/solomon-islands

Gudfala aftanun and a blessed Sunday to you all.
Apologies as it has been too long since I last posted a video (been busy with work).
Anyways, I recently had a discussion with one of our fellow PALM worker, who's just got back from spending his holidays in the Solomons. His concern was of the taxation of goods brought into the country which is said to be too much or overcharged. Additionally, I have also heard some stories of similar experience from our wantoks going back for holidays.
This video is just an idea of an issue that I personally think our government should consider, in terms of PALM workers. Don't mind the eating part 😂😂😂
Anyone who knows more about this, please help by sharing what you know on this matter.
Much love and God bless 🙌 🙏 🫡
