They always do amazing flavoured sours.
This one is called Rubber Ducky and it’s a peach, pineapple, banana and coconut flavoured sour. It’s an island holiday beer.
We have this now in the fridge along with 7 other of their limited range.

Spent this morning preparing for the weekend and I have to admit the new branding on the Two Fold whisky looks incredible.
Whoever did this label knocked it out if this world. Amazing work for such a good drink. Might be a good time to enjoy a boilermaker with the hand pumped ESB.

Great advice from a wise man.
Obviously had a few faults in his life but he had a pretty amazing life.
See everyone this week from Thursday to Sunday.

"Eat at a local restaurant tonight. Get the cream sauce. Have a cold pint at 4 o’clock in a mostly empty bar. Go somewhere you’ve never been. Listen to someone you think may have nothing in common with you.
Order the steak rare. Eat an oyster. Have a negroni. Have two. Be open to a world where you may not understand or agree with the person next to you, but have a drink with them anyways.
Eat slowly. Tip your server. Check in on your friends. Check in on yourself. Enjoy the ride."
Anthony Bourdain

How 2025 looks for Australia's craft beer category - The Shout 20/08/2024

If you have a spare 5 minutes spend it reading this article.
In case you haven’t noticed the independent beer segment is struggling right now. The Black Sheep The Black Sheep Hawthorn no longer refers to what we sell as “craft beer” because that term has been high jacked but the internationally owned breweries such as CUB and Asahi. What we sell is independent beer.
If you go look at the craft beer section in the big bottle shops 85-90% called craft are internationally owned and not made with the same passion as an independent brewer would do.
If you want to support local producers I’d love to see you spending your beer dollars in at our little venue or at the brewery on Riversdale road.

How 2025 looks for Australia's craft beer category - The Shout As we enter the 2025 financial year, how are breweries adjusting to the new normal and developing strategies to respond to market challenges?

One of my top 3 stouts of all time has just been tapped.
I realise that the beers on tap were pale and IPA focused so to balance it out we needed a dark beer on.

I saw a post earlier on Instagram that must have been hard for the person to do.

When a local asks for help the will always do our best to show some love.
Lots of independent hospitality businesses are struggling right now so I’m asking when you’re out spending your hard earned money please seek out an independent business. The corporate owned pubs, fast food chains, bottle shops, etc don’t need your money.
There will be no point complaining and reminiscing in 6 months that time that your favourite little spot is no longer around. They will be if we show the love and continue to support them now.
Our small jesture will be that once Hardings have the new menus printed out they will be added to our menu board and you’ll be able to order and eat while enjoying a Victorian produced beverage the bar.
That’s my little pledge to support a local independent business and hopefully you can too.

The Owners

After spending way too much time researching bars and pubs around Melbourne I decided that I wanted to have a career change and work with products that I’m passionate about.

I’ve taken aspects of the many bars and pubs that I love and I’ve fused my venue to incorporate all the best parts of these places.

Being a proud Victorian, The Black Sheep Hawthorn will have a strong focus on Victorian products for the tap beer and cider, packaged beer options, Australian spirits, Victorian mixers (exclusively Capi) as well as doing pizzas daily with food specials on different days of the week.

Like all good bars the usual suspects will be slowly introduced. Those being happy hours, loyalty programs and trivia nights.
