Roller Hockey at the Skate Victoria Shed Roller Hockey at the Skate Victoria Shed in Dandenong captured by AL Andrews from Drew Media.
A step back in time .... 35 + years ago, when John Brogan and members of the Dandenong Roller Hockey club put the concrete floor down for the Shed.
If anyone else has any old photos, please post them and let's keep our history of this great training venue alive.
The Skate Victoria rink commonly referred to as ‘The Shed’ is located within the Dandenong Show Grounds complex in Dandenong.
Skate Victoria is the only State Body for Roller Sports in Australia that have their own permanent training venue.
In 2011 SV took over the lease of the Shed & has seen all disciplines of skating utilising the facility for competitions, club training, junior development, officials' workshops & training camps.
Over this time, we have worked closely with the Dandenong Agricultural and Pastoral Society Board to make multiple ongoing improvements to provide a welcoming venue for our Affiliates, which is used every day of the week by groups.
If you have visited the shed recently, you may have seen two of the “major” improvements which have been undertaken … A “brand new green shiny roof” & "indoor roof lighting".
