🌟 Safe travels to Stella Rose Lay, a standout VU student, as she sets off to Zagreb, Croatia for the World Forum! 🇭🇷✨ This marks Stella’s second year serving as an Australian ambassador for FISU, and she is one of just two students from Australia heading to the forum. Over the week, she’ll proudly represent UniSport Australia & VU Sport.

Stella’s leadership journey has been nothing short of impressive—she’s been a dedicated team manager, team captain for our national team last year, and was honored with the VU Sport Team Service Award in 2022. Plus, she’s played a crucial role on the Student Advisory Committee for the past two years, ensuring the student voice is heard in their events. 🌟👏

The VU Sport and Health team headed out to our Sunshine, Werribee and Nicholson campuses to share things like gym memberships, elite athlete support, representative sport, social sport, and everything in between 💪🏆

Congratulations to our two teams that competed at the 3x3 Basketball Championships in the Sunshine Coast last week! 🏀

Our women fought hard in a stacked pool, making it through to the bronze medal match where they just fell short against the University of Waikato. They came in a very commendable fourth place in the Division 1 comp.

Our men’s team put up some of their best performances, coming away with the gold medal in the Division 2 competition against the University of Sydney.

We can’t wait to see these students back on the court in Canberra for Uni Nationals!

Victoria University is participating in the 2024 Push Up Challenge! The challenge commences in just over one week, so be sure to secure you're spot in the VU Community 💪
You can join a VU team within our Community, or you can join as an individual!

The Push-Up Challenge aims to raise awareness, engage and educate people and raises funds for crisis support and su***de prevention services. The Push-Up Challenge runs from the 5-28 June 2024 and 3,249 push-ups are done over 24 days representing the 3,249 lives lost to su***de in 2022.

If the 3,429 push-ups is a little daunting, don't worry! You can do half the challenge with 1,625 push-ups, or check out our stories over the coming days to see what other alternatives there are! 🤩

We would like to extend our congratulations to Master of Physiotherapy student Millie Bongiorno who was recently awarded the Alpine Snowboard Female Athlete of the Year award by 🏆

"Millie Bongiorno returned to some of her best form this season, claiming her first Europa Cup podium in almost two years.

After a sixth place parallel slalom result in Pamporovo, Bulgaria in January, she returned to the second race the following day and claimed the bronze medal.

Millie also raced extensively on the World Cup circuit where she tasted more success in Bulgaria, with an 18th place finish scoring her the best individual World Cup result of her career." (Snow Australia Awards 2024)

Congratulations to VU student athlete Todd Hodgetts who took out second place in shot put at the 2024 Athletics Nationals last week 🥈

Todd previously studied at VU and is back to study a Bachelor of Exercise Science. We couldn’t be happier to have him back and representing the Vultures again 🦅

The VU Vultures fought hard against in the Pride round & final game of the 2024 UBL home & away season, showcasing some incredible moments of vulture culture 💙🦅

Our women were locked in from the minute they stepped on the court, clinching the win from a previously undefeated team. It wasn’t our day for the men’s team but we are proud of how they laid it all out on the court.
