New labelling for aerosol sunscreens coming soon and we fully support this labelling change.
It’s important to use aerosol sunscreens correctly to help avoid sunburn and other problems.
The safest way to use aerosol sunscreens is to:
1. Hold the container 10-15 cm away from the body and apply liberally and evenly until the product looks and feels wet on the skin.
2. Don’t spray directly on to your face. Spray onto your hands and then apply to your face.
3. Don’t apply in windy conditions.
4. Use in a well-ventilated area and avoid inhalation.
These instructions will be required on all aerosol sunscreen labels in Australia soon.

Good news from Ninja (young gaming youtuber) who had the area around his Melanoma excised to make sure it was all gone. He had a 2nd lesion that was new and he was worried about it - that's what he mentions in the 2nd half of his post.
We wish him all the best and we're glad that he got the Melanoma early so he should expect to be cured.

Sunburn, particularly during childhood significantly increases the risk of developing skin cancer later in life.
So that’s why we are very insistent on being SunSmart, particularly encouraging daily use of sunscreen. And for those with a history of sunburns it’s extra important to get regular skin checks to pick up any skin cancers as early as possible, before they cause trouble.

Our Story
The MoleScope Skin Cancer Clinic was started by Dr Geoffrey Bartlett to provide you with access to the proven technology currently available for the detection of early skin cancer. Molescope doctors use both visual examination, dermoscopy and advanced photography to thoroughly assess and record your moles. Our Doctors have extra qualifications in Skin Cancer Medicine from the Skin Cancer College of Australasia.
Dermoscopy is performed using a small handheld device called a dermoscope. It is like a small microscope and allows the doctor to see just under the skin to see the skin pigment (colour) in more detail and also to see any blood vessels near the skin. The extensive extra training & experience that our Doctors have is then paired with the information from looking at a mole through the Dermoscope and that allows the Doctor to give a good assessement of whether the mole is one of concern or it is benign. This then means that concerning moles can be removed (on a different day) and that benign (non-cancerous) moles can be left alone.
We are one of the few skin cancer clinics that offer full body photography as part of the standard (30 minute) consultation at no extra charge. Our Doctors use very high resolution cameras to allow photos to be reviewed at subsequent appointments to check for any new or changing moles. This is especially relevant for people with large numbers of moles. Areas such as the back and the back of the legs are typical areas that new moles are otherwise missed. Full body photography is optional but is especially encouraged for those at high risk of skin cancer. Many skin cancers have been detected using this method alone.
