Brisbane Race Week returns in 2024 2023 saw the introduction of a new keelboat regatta for Moreton Bay aptly named Brisbane Race Week. The regatta features five days of racing across Queensland's Labour Day weekend in May in the sailing arena of the upcoming 2032 Summer Olympics.

The Two-Handed team of Rod Smallman and Leeton Hulley know that all too well after an underwater collision took their Jeanneau Sunfast 3600 Maverick out of contention. "We hit something heavy," said Smallman. "Part of the deck was also shattered.

"We were taking a bit of water, but there was not a safety issue.

"We are gutted. We were the furthest east, in the current and thought we were in good shape."

Last weekend was the RORC Myth of Malham ocean race with 38 entries in the 2-handed division. 1st went to “Gentoo” with James Harayda and Dee Caffari, then “Aries” followed by Team Bomby/Robertson. 4th was the Sun Fast 3600 “Bellino”, while in 5th was the 3200 “Cora” which also won IRC 4. A clean sweep for Sun Fast’s 👏
