Mums Supporting Families In Need was created by founder Jodie Harris who had a big heart and a simple idea that as a community we CAN, and SHOULD, work together to ensure no family is living without their basic daily needs being met. From humble beginnings in her living room, Jodie created the charity to rehome, reuse and recycle much needed material aid to struggling families across her local com

No family is the same, and what makes a family looks a little different for everyone.
Days like today that honour just one parental figure can be very tricky to navigate if that’s not your version of family.
We’re sending love to everyone who needs it today, and a huge happy Father’s Day to the Dads out there showing up for their kids and partners 💜

Would you believe that our volunteers are already hard at work preparing for Christmas?!

Thanks to this amazing donation of teethers from our lovely supporter Diana, we have enough stock to start packing up beautiful gifts for babies aged 0-12 months 🎁

This year, local bubs will receive a GroRomper, teether and gorgeous knitted hat from our very clever knitting supporters.

We can’t wait to get these out to local families 🎄💜

26/08/2024

This Top-Up Tuesday we’re calling out for socks and un**es for all ages!

We provide socks and un**es with every clothing pack for every member of the family. If we have the stock, we include one week’s worth to help ease the financial burden of purchasing these basic essentials.

Your local Big W and Kmart have multipacks for as little as $5! If you are in a position to do so, please - donate for a local family in need this week.

We are open 10am - 2.30pm on weekdays, except Wednesdays, to accept donated items.

Thank you so much for your support 💜

We are so grateful that we could help more local children to take part in this year’s Book Week!

Responding to a call out from Launch Housing, our lovely MSFIN volunteers pulled together 4 huge boxes of costumes donated by this wonderful community, to pass on to children who have fled domestic violence to choose a costume - making sure they can join in with their peers.

This amazing stall was run from Viv’s Place, currently home to almost 100 children.

Thank you so much for everyone who donated a costume and HAPPY BOOK WEEK 📖📚📙

Saturday mornings are for Hamper of Hope restocks! 😍

Thank you so much to the team at Baxter Woolworths and Big W Karingal Hub for helping to load these household essentials into the car to head back to the MSFIN warehouse for packing.

We are very grateful to Freemasons Foundation Victoria and South East Water - Melbourne, Australia for generously supporting this program with grants to purchase these items.

The need for Hamper of Hope is greater than ever. If you’re in a position to support, please consider making a donation here: https://msfin.org.au/donate-money/

Take a look at this generous donation of linen and blankets that Lifestrong Physiotherapy & Health Services collected in their Winter Blanket Drive!
We are so grateful for this support from the community for local families.

Even though the sun has been shining today, the need for blankets and linen is still critical. If you have any new or near new quality linen you can pass on, we would gratefully accept all sizes - especially single and queen.

Thank you so much to Daniel and the team and Lifestrong Physio Chelsea 💜

This gorgeous video from Havashot Media beautifully captures the celebration of Christmas in July at the inaugural Vic Rajah Family Lawyers Charity Match with Seaford Football Netball Club. We are absolutely thrilled to be part of this event, and share more about how we support local families. Thank you Vic Rajah for driving this important cause for your community 💜

Did you know that we accept preloved toys?
It’s the final days of our Christmas in July celebrations and while we only collect new toys to give at Christmas, we also provide preloved toy packs for over 800 local children throughout the year!
If your little ones have very good quality used toys, LEGO, books or board games that they no longer play with, please consider donating them to be passed on to a family in need.

We can accept toys that are:
💜 Smaller than a shoe box
💜 In very good condition
💜 Come with all parts and pieces
💜 Not stained or faded

We cannot accept any soft toys, unless they are brand new with tags.

Comment below with any queries about the types of toys we can accept or share what you’re planning to donate ⤵️

Look who stopped in to say hello! 👋
Frankston City Mayor, Nathan Conroy dropped by to meet the MSFIN team and catch up with our very own Frankston Citizen of the Year; Alastair.

Rarely accepting any limelight or accolades, our Alastair (‘Al’) has earned his well deserved Citizen of the Year title by devoting his time and energy to MSFIN and the enormous task of keeping our warehouse operational. While he always has time for a joke and a laugh, Al works tirelessly to serve his community and is committed in every way possible to giving back. His calm nature has kept MSFIN on track through times of extreme need from our local community - and we’re beyond grateful for him.

It wasn’t all smiles and banter in this visit, these men are passionate about their role in protecting our most vulnerable families, and ensuring that people receive the support they need, when they need it. We look forward to working more closely with Frankston City Council to better support our local community together 💜

Thank you to the amazing Vic Rajah Family Lawyers for an outstanding day of generosity at the Seaford Football Netball Club Charity Match!
We are delighted to see how many toys were lovingly placed under our purple tree for children that would otherwise go without this Christmas🎄
Thank you so much to everyone who attended, donated and a very special shout out to Vic Rajah himself for initiating this event and connecting our cause with the community- we couldn’t be more grateful 💜

WOW! We are blown away by this morning’s donation of Christmas hampers for Mums and young bubs.
Kerrie-Lynn, (featured below with Tania and our lovely volunteers) collects items all year round, and with Tania’s help, packages them into hampers and drop them into our warehouse when the storage of them gets too much!
THANK YOU Kerrie-Lynn and Tania! You are amazing 🤩 💜

We know that the cost of living crisis is hitting our community hard. More families than ever need our help getting basic essentials, and by Christmas, presents will be a luxury that some cannot afford.

While it’s not an essential need, we work hard to provide toys for over 5000 local children at Christmas. To remind these families that the community is there for them, and we are all in this together.

Show your support for local families by helping us kick off our annual toy drive next Sunday 28 July at our Seaford warehouse: 2/7 Sir Laurence Drive.
Bring down a toy (new in packaging please) anytime between 10am - 2pm and stay for a sausage sizzle and celebration.

All members of your family are welcome, except your lovely pets please!

We can’t wait to see you there 💜

17/07/2024

Beyond excited to receive our first toiletries order from the Pinchapoo team 🤩

The continued support from this wonderful community is outstanding! We simply couldn’t support the families we do, without you.

If you’re in a position to donate items and are wondering what needs a “top-up” this week, we would absolutely love donations of the following items:
- Size 1 nappies
- Size 6-14 kids clothing
- Size 6-14 kids un**es and socks
- Single bed sheets and doonas
- Pantry food items

Our Seaford warehouse is open 10am - 2.30pm on weekdays except Wednesdays, to accept donated items. Thank you so much 💜

It’s official - Hamper of Hope is back up and running! And this is just the first load of items 💪
Thank you again to South East Water - Melbourne, Australia for providing much needed funds to keep this program running, and to Freemasons Foundation Victoria for first seeing the value in this important service.
One Hamper of Hope provides everything you would need to set up for the first night in secure accommodation after leaving family violence. It’s just the household basics, but it’s a crucial step towards removing financial barriers to leaving violence.
We are so grateful to have this service available for families again 💜

If you are experiencing family violence and are in need of support, please reach out to your local community support centre to coordinate what you may need - including a Hamper of Hope. If you’re unsure of where your local supports are, please head to: https://www.cisvic.org.au/.

Did you know MSFIN provides toys to over 5,000 local children every Christmas?
This year, we’re predicting more children than ever will need our help to get a present under their tree.

Our goal is for no child to go without. But this takes a huge amount of generosity from our community - and a LOT of planning!

We know that there isn’t as much room in everyone’s budget this year, and the end of the year puts pressure on all families. So, we’re kicking off our Toy Drive early with Christmas in July.

If you’re in a position to do so, please consider putting an extra toy in your trolley for a child that would otherwise go without this year. Make the most of the current toy sales and grab a bargain on; LEGO, Duplo, Playdoh, arts & crafts, colouring books, baby sensory toys, storybooks, UNO and card games, or basic sporting gear. Items that can be used by many different ages of children and don’t take up a lot of space are perfect options.

You’re welcome to come down to our Seaford warehouse to donate your toys on Sunday 28 July between 10am - 2pm and stay for a Christmas in July party. Kids very welcome 💜

This Top-Up Tuesday, take a walk with us down our Toiletries aisle.

A basic toiletries pack for each member of the family is requested with almost every order we receive from support agencies. Right now, we can only provide body wash and toothpaste. While this is a lot more than some families currently have, we would love to provide shampoo, conditioner, deodorant and period products with these packs.
We know that the cost of living is impacting our community more than ever before. If you have the means to put extra toiletries in your trolley this month, please consider dropping them in to our Seaford warehouse 💜

14/06/2024

We are THRILLED to be a successful South East Water - Melbourne, Australia Community Grant recipient! Thanks to this generous support, we are able to provide our Hamper of Hope service to more people who have left family violence. We couldn't be more grateful 💜

If you are overdue to clean out your closet, please consider dropping in warm winter clothes, coats, beanies, boots and blankets to our warehouse. Size 5-16 kids are in particular need 💜
