Mary and her four siblings face the significant challenges of living in poverty after having lost both parents. ACCIR’s partner Kivuli registered Mary and her sister into their program when she was just 10 years old. Through their holistic approach, she has had access to education, family strengthening and psychosocial support.
Mary’s education journey hasn’t always been easy and she has had to repeat two grades of high school in the past. She has continued to be provided with the support she needed from Kivuli, and has now performed so well in school that she has been accepted into a teacher training institute to pursue her dream of becoming a teacher.
Case management for vulnerable children like Mary can be a complex process, but the reward of seeing them reaching their potential is always worth the investment.

These words capture Viseth’s* incredible journey through education. Viseth took responsibility for his learning and the opportunities provided by Serve Cambodia to pursue his dream of working in the IT sector.
While Viseth was busy studying technology, another student, Dara,* was using her Serve Cambodia scholarship to follow her heart and pursue what she loves by becoming one of a few females studying civil engineering.
Through Serve Cambodia’s three education centres, hundreds of children are now following in Viseth and Dara’s footsteps from primary school to university.

These children are enjoying the daily nutritious breakfast that they receive at the HelpKids Montessori School. HelpKids offers a wholistic program to children from low-income families, which includes health monitoring activities.
In September last year, several children from the school were discovered to be losing weight because the economic crisis in Sri Lanka was making it more and more challenging for their parents to supply nutritious meals for their families.
Over the next term, the HelpKids staff provided special milk powder supplementation to the children’s meals, and by December, all of the children were gaining significant amounts of weight and were moving back towards the healthy range for their age.
Good nutrition in early childhood is critical for healthy development, as well as protective against common childhood illnesses. To contribute to initiatives like HelpKids, head over to our website (link in bio).

Iqbal* and his family live in Mumbai, with 14 people under one roof. With such a big household, it’s difficult for Iqbal’s parents to earn enough to support the family.
In 2021 a Vision Rescue Community Case Counsellor met the family and Iqbal was enrolled into the Beacon Learning Centre. He threw himself enthusiastically into the opportunity, and within a year he had skipped a grade and been accepted into the formal schooling system. Not only has Iqbal’s education been supported, but Vision Rescue has provided health care assistance to the family and opportunities for Iqbal’s mother to learn sewing at a vocational training course.
She reports, "Vision Rescue has been a blessing for our family. They not only ensured our son Iqbal's education but also took care of our health and nutrition. We feel supported in every aspect, and it means the world to us."

Strong Village works with local village chiefs to identify potential community development projects and families that are in need of assistance. Through the recommendation of one of these chiefs, a girl from a large family was taken on as a Strong Village client. She is now supported to continue her education, and a generous donor has enabled the purchase of a bicycle so that she can get to school and back every day.
If you would like to contribute to community development initiatives like those of Strong Village, check out the range of projects to support on our Project 24 site (link in bio).

The Windsors are approaching 13 years in Vietnam, with Bek’s involvement stretching back even further. Her life – and that of her family – has been an incredible journey of listening to, and following God’s call to love the nation of Vietnam. And, as she shares in our ‘One Life at a Time’ podcast, she wouldn’t change a minute of it.

Witnessing the transformation of individuals and communities is so rewarding. There’s nothing we love more than to see people thriving and growing in their community.

This is the first toilet and outhouse constructed through ACCIR partner, Strong Village Cambodia, last year. Strong Village engaged with local village chiefs to discover where the needs were greatest. 21 families across 3 villages were identified as being in need of access to a toilet, to provide adequate sanitation and dignity.
This first outhouse was for a family of 6 and the builder generously extended it to make it bigger than instructed, at no extra cost.Since then, the project has almost raised the amount needed to complete all 21 toilet blocks.

Suresh* and three of his siblings moved to Mumbai with their mother after their parent’s separation. Living in an area with extremely limited access to facilities such as water and electricity and struggling from the aftermath of her marriage breakdown, it was a challenge for Suresh’s mother, Gita*, to provide for her children’s basic needs.
Vision Rescue met the family not long after they arrived in Mumbai. Suresh and his little sister were soon enrolled in Vision Rescue’s Beacon Learning Centre, and one of their older brothers was enrolled in the local government school. Gita was also supported with help finding employment, as well as assistance in obtaining important documents for the children.
Strengthening the family and supporting Gita through a difficult time meant her children were able to access their right to education.

Project24: Church Strengthening for AOG Papua New Guinea.
Funds are being sought to establish a national office & website for the AOG Movement in PNG. The AOG has a strong presence in the country, spanning more than 75 years, but its National Executive lacks an operational hub to work out of. Funds would be used to create a National operational office and to purchase relevant technology hardware and other supplies. A website would also be created to facilitate networking throughout the country, allowing them to improve governance and administrative functions.
This is a fantastic opportunity for Australian churches to re-partner with the AOG in PNG and help strengthen churches throughout the entire country.

Last year a Shine program was run by Hillsong Africa Foundation in a women’s shelter in Cape Town. Lindiwe* was a differently-abled participant who was living at the shelter while struggling with homelessness. At the end of the course, she shared how, despite her difficult circumstances, Shine had cemented her sense of value, worth and purpose. She had incorporated affirmations, learned in the course, into her daily life.
Lindiwe now aspires to become a Shine facilitator herself and take the message of value and identity to others in the differently-abled community.

Sokhanya* was despairing of life before she was connected with Mother’s Heart during the Covid pandemic. She had faced rejection and abandonment, and was pregnant, jobless and alone.
Mother’s Heart helped support Sokhanya through the birth of a healthy son, as well as providing counselling and helping her to make courageous decisions for her future.
Mother’s Heart also helps women who have faced crisis pregnancies find vocational training opportunities, so that they can become financially independent. Sokhanya managed to get a position in a dressmaker’s class, and she so impressed her teachers that she was offered a job after graduating. She was also donated items that would help her start her own business in the province where she is from, which she has chosen to do. She has since reunited with her mother in her home province and looks forward to beginning life again there with her mother and son. She could say with confidence, “I have a future with my child and family, and it begins now.”

We have Project Partners working in incredibly complex, isolated, and challenging environments where supporting children is difficult: conflict zones, political upheaval, economic challenges, or a lack of resources. Several projects rely on social workers to support children and families in these situations. ACCI uses a network of technical experts (located in Africa, Asia, and Australia) who regularly meet with social workers to provide ongoing support and care.
