However most people have no idea how to take a Simple breath in through the nose, hold & slowly release! They teach this in Primary schools- 1/ Smell the Roses
2/ Make a Wish & 3/ slowly blow the candles out!
This book by James Nestor BREATH is amazing and informative!
Once you understand the benefits of Breathing correctly and that it can literally change your life, you will be more likely to start practising these simple techniques and create this as a habit! Then it’s on auto pilot!

This is for you. I really like what is said here and am going to try my best to follow it. Thank you to the person who wrote this. May God bless us all as we strive to be a blessing to others at this age, especially to our children.

🚩Between 60 and death. It's time to use the money you saved up. Use it and enjoy it. Don't just keep it for those who may have no notion of the sacrifices you made to get it. Remember there is nothing more dangerous than a son or daughter-in-law with big ideas for your hard-earned capital.
🚩Warning: This is also a bad time for investments, even if it seems wonderful or fool-proof. They only bring problems and worries. This is a time for you to enjoy some peace and quiet.
🚩Stop worrying about the financial situation of your children and grandchildren, and don't feel bad spending your money on yourself. You've taken care of them for many years, and you've taught them what you could. You gave them an education, food, shelter, and support. The responsibility is now theirs to earn their own money.
🚩Keep a healthy life, without great physical effort. Do moderate exercise (like walking every day), eat well, and get your sleep. It's easy to become sick, and it gets harder to remain healthy. That is why you need to keep yourself in good shape and be aware of your medical and physical needs. Keep in touch with your doctor, do tests even when you're feeling well. Stay informed.
🚩Always buy the best, most beautiful items for your significant other. The key goal is to enjoy your money with your partner. One day one of you will miss the other, and the money will not provide any comfort then, enjoy it together.
🚩Don't stress over the little things. You've already overcome so much in your life. You have good memories and bad ones, but the important thing is the present. Don't let the past drag you down and don't let the future frighten you. Feel good in the now. Small issues will soon be forgotten.
🚩Regardless of age, always keep love alive. Love your partner, love life, love your family, love your neighbor and remember: "A man is not old as long as he has intelligence and affection."
🚩Be proud, both inside and out. Don't stop going to your hair salon or barber, do your nails, go to the dermatologist and the dentist, keep your perfumes and creams well stocked. When you are well-maintained on the outside, it seeps in, making you feel proud and strong.
🚩Don’t lose sight of fashion trends for your age, but keep your own sense of style. You’ve developed your own sense of what looks good on you – keep it and be proud of it. It’s part of who you are.
🚩ALWAYS stay up-to-date. Read newspapers, watch the news. Go online and read what people are saying. Make sure you have an active email account and try to use some of those social networks. You'll be surprised at what old friends you'll meet.
🚩Respect the younger generation and their opinions. They may not have the same ideas as you, but they are the future and will take the world in their direction. Give advice, not criticism, and try to remind them that yesterday's wisdom still applies today.
Never use the phrase: “In my time.” Your time is now. As long as you’re alive, you are part of this time.
🚩Some people embrace their golden years, while others become bitter and surly. Life is too short to waste your days on the latter. Spend your time with positive, cheerful people, it'll rub off on you and your days will seem that much better. Spending your time with bitter people will make you feel older and harder to be around.
🚩Do not surrender to the temptation of living with your children or grandchildren (if you have a financial choice, that is). Sure, being surrounded by family sounds great, but we all need our privacy. They need theirs and you need yours. Even then, do so only if you feel you really need the help or do not want to live by yourself
🚩Don't abandon your hobbies. If you don't have any, make new ones. You can travel, hike, cook, read, dance. You can adopt a cat or a dog, grow a kitchen garden, play cards, checkers, chess, dominoes, golf.
🚩Try to go. Get out of the house, meet people you haven't seen in a while, experience something new (or something old). The important thing is to leave the house from time to time. Go to museums, go walk through a park. Get out there.
🚩Speak in courteous tones and try not to complain or criticize too much unless you really need to. Try to accept situations as they are.
🚩Pains and discomfort go hand in hand with getting older. Try not to dwell on them but accept them as a part of life.
🚩If you've been offended by someone – forgive them. If you've offended someone-apologize. Don't drag around resentment with you. It only serves to make you sad and bitter. It doesn't matter who was right. Someone once said: "Holding a grudge is like taking poison and expecting the other person to die." Don't take that poison. Forgive, forget, and move on with your life.
🚩Laugh. Laugh away your worries Remember, you are one of the lucky ones. You managed to have a life, a long one. Many never get to this age, never get to experience a full life.

Are you causing a BIGGER and potentially more dangerous Fire that will not benefit anyone?

In my younger days and less wise, I had great difficulty in stepping away and not fanning the flames or even adding more fuel.
My ego had me constantly standing my ground and not letting things calm down or burn out organically (and of course we have reactions based from past conditioning and traumas ie I was initially a very shy and introverted child (I know, surprising hey lol) and then as my family moved around with different businesses I was forced to attend 4 different primary schools so endured being bullied or isolated at each new school so then I learnt to stand up to bullying and intimidation which was beneficial as a child and teenager and even young man in workplace or playing football so I was actually getting a benefit and even rewarded for this behavior. so of course this conditioning continued as my new identity.

I then realized that as an adult, this behavior was actually causing more damage to relationships in my life so I have conditioned myself now to Step Away, Let s**t go that isn't going to be important in 2 days or 2 weeks or even 2 hours later and shift my Focus back on what is more important in my life and warrants my time and energy.
Now, I am definitely NOT saying let ALL things go. I am actually endorsing Standing your Ground & setting boundaries and having the uncomfortable conversations or confrontation when required!
at times this will be necessary or you will be taken advantage of.
A friend once said to me 'oh thats okay for you, cause you love confrontation"
The truth is I HATE confrontation on so many levels however I will not shy away from it when it is 1/necessary and 2/the most likely way of gaining a good resolution for all parties and minimizing future traumas and angst. Then you can move on knowing you have done all that you could and how others react will really be up to them. There will always be conflict in life and once you are okay with that you can easily choose which conflicts are worth your energy to resolve and which conflicts just dont really fn matter.
ANGER is a bad emotion that is an outward expression of HURT, FEAR and FRUSTRATION !

SO minimize the Hurt (it is very rarely personal, its generally their own hurts and insecurities ie Bullies)
Let the FEAR go or feel the fear and do it anyway. It is an anagram for False Evidence appearing Real. We worry about things that rarely occur.
Tell yourself Im SAFE to be FRUSTRATED Not angry, frustrated. I am constantly getting frustrated and okay with that however rarely get angry anymore. anger will cause an angry reaction that will always be a negative in your life. YOU can lose a friendship, a marriage or your job from ONE single angry reaction.

Those that Matter don't Mind!
Those that mind don't Matter!
Stop trying to please everyone, it is not even achievable!

Next time you feel anxiety or stress or anger or overwhelm, acknowledge it and take a Deep slow BREATH
Relax (this has to occur as you slow your heart rate)
Detach from the negative thought or situation or environment &
Rationalize (ask yourself what are my options, what is my best move and positive way to resolve this ie
Tell yourself I AM SAFE to...... Walk away or stand my ground, or ignore or wait a while etc the power of stepping away, am I the next match in the line of heat??

Intermittent FASTING-
I am now 23 hours into my fast with target of 40 hours!
Is it beneficial? Is it dangerous?
The science is strong my friends!
It is a good practice and I regularly do a 16/8 a few times a week! Your body functions amazingly well without food!
I am feeling great at this point and just finished my last client of the day & was completely focused and switched on with great mental clarity. I am on a pure water fast. Just water!
I don’t drink coffee! Lots of water to avoid any headaches!
I am not hungry at all at this stage (got through day easy due to back to back clients which is why I started on Sunday night into Monday.

My body is now into a Ketosis stage and breaking down & burning fat. Below is a more detailed description of the 5 stages of Fasting for those interested.

The Five Stages of Intermittent (and Prolonged) Fasting
KetosisBy 12 hours, you’ve entered the metabolic state called ketosis (Anton et al., Obesity 2018). In this state, your body starts to break down and burn fat.
Some of this fat is used by the liver to produce ketone bodies (ketones). The two main ketones, acetoacetate and β-hydroxybutyrate (BHB), serve as an alternative energy source for the cells of your heart, skeletal muscle, and brain, when glucose isn’t readily available. Did you know that your brain uses up some 60% of your glucose when your body is in the resting state? During intermittent fasting, ketone bodies generated by your liver partly replace glucose as fuel for your brain as well as other organs. This ketone usage by your brain is one of the reasons that intermittent fasting is often claimed to promote mental clarity and positive mood – ketones produce less inflammatory products as they are being metabolized than does glucose, and they can even kick-start production of the brain growth factor BDNF! Ketones have also been shown to reduce cellular damage and cell death in neurons and can also reduce inflammation in other cell types.
By 18 hours, you’ve switched to fat-burning mode and are generating significant ketones (Anton et al., Obesity 2018). You can now begin to measure blood ketone levels above your baseline values. Under normal conditions, the concentration of ketones in your plasma ranges between 0.05 and 0.1 mM. When you fast or restrict the carbohydrates in your diet, this concentration can reach 5-7 mM. You can help accelerate ketone production with some heart-pumping exercise! For example, intermittent fasting combined with running cause rewiring of nerve cells in the brain which leads to improved learning and memory in lab animals
As their level in your bloodstream rises, ketones can act as signaling molecules, similar to hormones, to tell your body to ramp up stress-busting pathways that reduce inflammation and repair damaged DNA for example.
Within 24 hours, your cells are increasingly recycling old components and breaking down misfolded proteins linked to Alzheimer’s and other diseases (Alirezaei et al., Autophagy 2010). This is a process called autophagy.
Autophagy is an important process for cellular and tissue rejuvenation – it removes damaged cellular components including misfolded proteins. When your cells can’t or don’t initiate autophagy, bad things happen, including neurodegenerative diseases, which seem to come about as a result of the reduced autophagy that occurs during aging. Intermittent fasting activates the AMPK signaling pathway and inhibits mTOR activity, which in turn activates autophagy. This only begins to happen, however, when you substantially deplete your glucose stores and your insulin levels begin to drop.
Intermittent fasting is one way in which you can increase autophagy in your cells and possibly reduce the effects of aging. A 2019 study with 11 overweight adults who only ate between 8 am and 2 pm showed increased markers of autophagy in their blood after fasting for around 18 hours, compared to control participants who only fasted for 12 hours. A second study detected autophagy in human neutrophils starting at 24 hours of fasting. In a third study, skeletal muscle biopsies of healthy male volunteers who fasted for 72 hours showed reduced mTOR and increased autophagy. In mice deprived of food, autophagy increases after 24 hours and this effect is magnified in cells of the liver and brain after 48 hours.
But intermittent fasting is not the only way to enhance the ability of your cells to recycle old components. Some of the known benefits of exercise for overall health have to do with increased autophagy. For example, autophagy induced by exercise delays the progression of heart disease by giving the heart better quality cell parts and reducing oxidative damage.
Exercise, just like intermittent fasting, inactivates mTOR, which increases autophagy in many tissues. Exercise mimics the effects of going without food for an extended period: It activates AMPK as well as autophagy-related genes and proteins.
In mice, endurance exercise increases autophagy in the heart, liver, pancreas, fat tissue, and brain. In humans, autophagy increases during high intensity exercise, including marathon running and cycling.
peak growth hormoneBy 48 hours without calories or with very few calories, carbs or protein, your growth hormone level is up to five times as high as when you started your fast (Hartman et al.,1992).
Part of the reason for this is that ketone bodies produced during fasting promote growth hormone secretion, for example in the brain. Ghrelin, the hunger hormone, also promotes growth hormone secretion. Growth hormone helps preserve lean muscle mass and reduces fat tissue accumulation, particularly as we age. It also appears to play a role in mammalian longevity and can promote wound healing and cardiovascular health.
minimum insulinBy 54 hours, your insulin has dropped to its lowest level point since you started fasting and your body is becoming increasingly insulin-sensitive (Klein et al., 1993).
Lowering your insulin levels through Intermittent fasting has a range of health benefits both short term and long term. Lowered insulin levels put a brake on the insulin and mTOR signaling pathways, activating autophagy. Lowered insulin levels can reduce inflammation, make you more insulin sensitive (and/or less insulin resistant, which is especially a good thing if you have a high risk of developing diabetes) and protect you from chronic diseases of aging including cancer.
By 72 hours, your body is breaking down old immune cells and generating new ones (Cheng et al., 2014).
Prolonged fasting reduces circulating IGF-1 levels and PKA activity in various cell populations. IGF-1, or insulin-like growth factor 1, looks a lot like insulin and has growth-promoting effects on almost every cell in the body. IGF-1 activates signaling pathways including the PI3K-Akt pathway that promotes cell survival and growth. PKA can also activate the mTOR pathway (and, of interest, too much caffeine during a fast may promote activation of PKA).
You might see where this is leading – pressing the brakes on IGF-1 and PKA through nutrient restriction and fasting can turn down cellular survival pathways and lead to breakdown and recycling of old cells and proteins. Studies in mice have shown that prolonged fasting (greater than 48 hours), by reducing IGF-1 and PKA, leads to stress resistance, self-renewal and regeneration of hematopoietic or blood cell stem cells. Through this same mechanism, prolonged fasting for 72 hours has been shown to preserve healthy white blood cell or lymphocyte counts in patients undergoing chemotherapy.
How to break a fast
We almost forgot about the last and perhaps most important stage of intermittent fasting – the refeeding stage! It’s important to break your fast with a nutritious, balanced meal that will further improve the function of cells and tissues that went through cleanup while you were fasting. From Mark Mattson and colleagues at the National Institute on Aging:
“Upon refeeding, ingested carbohydrates* and glucose stimulate release into the blood of the incretin hormone glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP1) from enteroendocrine cells in the gut. GLP1 enhances clearance of glucose from the blood by stimulating insulin release from the pancreas and increases the insulin sensitivity of cells. GLP1 crosses the blood–brain barrier and can act directly on neurons to promote synaptic plasticity, enhance cognition and bolster cellular stress resistance.”
*Update: This isn’t a recommendation to break your fast with lots of carbs and sugars, which may in fact lead to problematic blood sugar spikes. A few carbs can go a long way. It’s best to break your fast with a balanced meal including plenty of vegetables, plant fibers and plant fats, with healthy proteins and some whole grains or legumes if you choose. Avoid simple sugars and processed/packaged foods. Learn what works best for your body, and what you feel best eating following your fasts.

Why NYE Resolutions FAIL!
MOTIVATION WEARS OFF!
BELIEFS DO NOT!

It’s that time of the year when you’re feeling like this past year was a complete bust. You want change. So, like everyone else, you decide to come up with a list of Resolutions for this New Year. You are full of enthusiasm and excitement because you tell yourself that this year it’s going to be different.
According to the American Medical Association (AMA), some 40-50% of people partake in this yearly tradition, but depending on which statistic you look at, only 10-15% of these people will eventually succeed in reaching their goals. And that’s being generous. We only change for two reasons - Desperation (dont wait until you hit rock bottom) or Motivation. Motivation gets you started however it will not ensure you finish or continue. Motivation wears off, Beliefs do not!

So where do we come up short? The answer is simple. We don’t have a plan and therefore we focus on the wrong things.
WHERE FOCUS GOES ENERGY FLOWS!
In actuality, making resolutions is not a bad thing. The problem usually comes from the lack of motivation and accountability that inevitably follows this period of excitement. You have to transform your enthusiasm into concrete and sustainable plan. You must take ACTION. You must change your inner belief.

To increase your odds of success, you will need some accountability. Yes really. Those without it reduce their chance of success by half. You must have a PURPOSE!
It’s the same principle with Rehab programs. Why do you think they suggest the addict go to daily meetings? It’s not so much that they will be learning new tools and skills (although that is part of it), but most of the benefit from those meetings comes from the support and accountability that they get from their peers. You have to practice being positive and making positive choices. It must become a BELIEF. No longer a want or wish or try (Try is a fail word) Repeat over and over I CAN I WILL I CAN I WILL. Change your terminology. Change I WANT (which is future tense) to I AM… I AM healthy then you start making healthier choices immediately, it is present tense. I CAN I WILL!

So where do we get accountability? There are many places. Enlist friends and family. Tell as many people as you can. (Note: Tell people that will be supportive and hold you to realistic expectations, don’t listen to negative people) Have a plan on how to accomplish your goal. List the steps. What ACTIONS are you going to take to achieve your goal. If you’re not sure where to start, think about hiring a Life Coach or a professional mentor. Join a support group. You can even do it online. See a qualified successful Hypnotherapist. Just make sure there is a measure of accountability. Write down How you will FEEL when you achieve your goal.

If you have a goal in mind, start right away. Don’t wait until the end of the year. Just start! Why wait until the end of the year? It’s very seldom that conditions will be perfect. So go ahead and make that jump!
The new year does not hold the answers, but you do. The real question is, are you ready to embrace change? Think about it. You’ve been stuck in a dead end job, or you’ve wanted to quit smoking. Or maybe you want to lose weight or quit drinking. What is that worth? If your resolution has been on your mind for a while, don’t you owe it to yourself act on it?
Don’t get caught up in the trap. Put the cigarette down, get rid of the junk food in your house or start putting resumes in. Action brings results. Start now. Not tomorrow. Not tonight. But now! You’ve thought about it and talked about it. The only thing that is stopping you is you. We all have choices.

There is never a perfect time except right now to start acting on your goals. Well that is actually incorrect, there IS a perfect time…..its called NOW!
Jump! NOW! And ENJOY the Journey!

REMEMBER If you have a stumble, a relapse, a setback, ITS OK! You have not failed, you have momentarily delayed your success. Just being aware that you have faulted and feel bad about it, is MINDFULLNESS. This negative has now become a Positive Negative as you are aware of it and are not simply accepting it or running from it or sweeping it under the carpet. You can now adjust and take positive steps to correct yourself and get back on track. Listen to your inner GPS system, it will let you know you are heading in the wrong direction and you can correct your direction to the right path. You will still get where your going, it may just take longer. Stay positive and committed. You CAN and you WILL achieve your goal.

If you have any negative thoughts or emotions, cravings or urges, its okay, you don’t have to action them. All cravings or urges are very quick time limited, many people don’t realise that. When you ignore them and focus on something else they go away.

Deep BREATHING is the key, in through the nose. Take a deep slow breathe, RELAX DETACH and RATIONALISE (what is my most positive action here)
BREATHE & BELIEVE! Relax Detach Rationalise Say I CAN I WILL!
Tell yourself I AM SAFE TO…..(fill in blank, this next sentence can change your life)
Where FOCUS goes ENERGY FLOWS!
(remember to only Focus on what you actually WANT to happen, not the opposite! ie golfer saying DONT hit it in the water Don’t hit it in the water!
Just set an Intention Focus on it, take action towards it, even if tiny step, & it will actualize & manifest!
