It gives us such joy as Dog Trainers when you get clients who put in the work to get the results with their dogs and these guys have definitely put in 100% with their beautiful boy. Jolene, Milin & Buddy started a Basic Obedience Course with us with a typical Samoyed Puppy - full of exuberance, sometimes stubborn, lack of concentration, no focus on owner, lots of energy, why walk when you can run & pull attitude, jumping all over everyone when greeting them and just full on over the top excitement. Jolene could barely hold onto Buddy when she started the course but now can walk him under effective control, greet people and other dogs, hold a sit, hold a drop and so much more. They took out the Best in Class Award for their group yesterday and there was no one more deserving. Well done you guys!

It’s so great to see a 6 y.o. (Harper) in control of her 2 y.o. Labradoodle (Hudson) on a family walk! A lot of hard work has gone into beautiful Hudson by The Parkinson Family starting in Puppy Playgroup and working their way through to the Advanced Class at Westerfolds, where Harper and her Dad Rob are still regulars. Way to go guys and we are so proud of you Harper, well done!

Every now and again, a dog enters our lives as Trainers, stealing our hearts! This has definitely been the case with Elvis and our Director of Training Sandra. Elvis started training with us 18 years ago with Private Lessons as a tiny puppy and with his first time dog owning family The Turners. He then attended Puppy Classes through to Advanced level training with his devoted owner Lily and has been by Sandra’s side with the daily Walking Groups at Albert Park Lake, rehabilitating problem dogs and working with board & train dogs. Today Sandra took Elvis for his last walk, last treats, last cuddle and last farewell (after sharing some chocolate icecream). Lots of great times, happy memories, so much love and owners who started as clients who are now family. Ride high on the rainbow bridge Elvie our little buddy, your best mates Gable & Wallis are waiting for you! 🌈🐾

A very tired Bella yesterday……it was her 1st Birthday & Graduation Day for her Intermediate Obedience Course. Well done Bella (& owner Hoon) who have now successfully completed our Puppy Playgroup Course, Basic Obedience Course, Intermediate Obedience Course and will now join her Brother Baxter in the Advanced Classes at Westerfolds Park. 🏆 🥇
Today we got to work with this little cutie, 8 week old Bernese Mountain Dog Benson. Some walking on lead work, sit and lots more. This not so little man and owner Nikki did so well. Next step Puppy Classes 🐾

Definitely worth sharing. So many puppies and dogs can get very sick from plants that are toxic to them. We had one of our puppies who was training with us who kept getting sick - the vet and owners couldn’t work out what was going on. When I took a look at the area where she played, there was a lot of English Box Hedge that was trimmed regularly and the puppy loved chewing on the dried bits left over from the trims. Turns out English Box Hedge is very toxic for puppies!!

This is Ren the Black Russian Terrier who looks more like a patchwork quilt thanks to some low life scum of the earth person leaving poisonous bates at the park which he and his sister injested. The have both been very sick but this poor boy has been the worse of the two with kidney and liver problems as a result. The poor owner has had horrendous vet bills as a result and the worry of two very sick dogs who are a big part of his family’s life, especially his two little girls. Be careful out there while walking your dogs at parks because this seems to be happening more & more, which is so hard to comprehend why a person would do such a thing! 😡

It was a grey and very, very wet day today which saw all our classes for the day cancelled but the bad weather didn’t stop the Albert Park Lake Advanced Class Beach Walk & Christmas Break-up. Everyone had a great time - such dedicated and committed owners who truly love their dogs! We love our job at DOGS of Vic, even on shocking days weather wise like today. Merry Christmas Albert Park Lake Team 🌲 🐾
