R U OK?

At GNH you are always welcome to drop in for a cuppa and chat.

And if you have a feeling that someone you know or care about isn’t behaving as they normally would? Perhaps they seem out of sorts? More agitated or withdrawn? Or they’re just not themselves. Trust that gut instinct and act on it.

Learn more about the signs and when it's time to ask R U OK? not just today, but any day.

Acknowledging International Youth Day: From Clicks to Progress - Youth Digital Pathways for Sustainable Development.

This theme highlights the key connection between digitalization and accelerating the progress of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), emphasizing the crucial contributions of young people in this transformative process.

Young people are leading the charge in digital adoption and innovation, with three-quarters of those aged 15 to 24 using the internet in 2022, a rate higher than other age groups. However, disparities persist, particularly in low-income countries and among young women, who often have less access to the internet and digital skills compared to their male counterparts. While there is an urgent need to enhance digital inclusion, youth are largely recognized as “digital natives,” using technology to drive change and create solutions.

By celebrating the digital contributions of youth, we can inspire further innovation and collaboration towards achieving sustainable development.

About Us

Glenroy Neighbourhood Learning Centre is a community development and education services provider, neighbourhood house, and Registered Training Organisation (RTO). Our charity offers a suite of digital literacy courses, language and literacy programs, health and well being activities, occasional childcare, and opportunities for young people.

Glenroy Neighbourhood Learning Centre had its origins in 1978 when staff at Broadmeadows Community Health Centre found many of their clients required language and literacy skills. The Council of Adult Education (CAE) was approached to train volunteer literacy tutors for an adult literacy program in Glenroy. The program, delivered by volunteers in the Glenroy Library, was one of the first in the country.

Since that time, some developments in the history of the organisation include:

  • Becoming a neighbourhood house in 1999.
