MID-WEEK MEAL 🍴salmon, sweet potato, greens n butter beans.

What you need:

🥬salmon portion
🥬bunch of Bok Choy
🥬can of butter beans (No added salt pref)
🥬small sweet potato
🥬 garlic 2-3 cloves
🥬 1 tsp ayam yellow curry paste
🥬 1 tsp bone broth concentrate

What you need to do:

🍠Thinly slice & boil the sweet potato for around 10mins (until soft)
🍠drain and roast with olive oil and oregano for 5-10mins under the grill while you prep the rest
🍠meanwhile sauté bok choy & butter beans in olive oil, garlic for a few mins before adding the bone broth and curry paste
🍠add a little more olive oil to the pan and grill the salmon for a few mins on both sides.

And there you have it.. easy peasy lemon salmon squeezy 💦

How to avoid a NIP slip 🥴
(AKA Nutrition Information Panel)

NIPs don’t have to be hard...
So here is a quick run down of how to read a NIP for a quick zip around the grocery aisle without needing to study 4 unit maths.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🍏 Start with the ingredients. Any numbers, additives, long scientific words, things that sound like they belong in a chemistry lab, probably do and not in your digestive tract.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
😵‍💫 Next; the panel with all the numbers. Look at per 100gms and search for;
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Sat fat, Sugar and Sodium.
These are your main concerns
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
🤌🏼 Finally; Ideally (but there are exceptions to the rule) you want to aim for

🌞Hidden Drivers of Acne 🌞

🚌 Inflammation!! 🚌

Inflammation isn’t just a little driver of acne it’s a big school bus that will run you over and keep on driving.

It’s one of the main roadblocks from allowing your skin to glow 💫

So how to you get rid of it?

You identify where it is coming from and target it at the source.

👉🏼 is it your diet?
👉🏼 is it your lifestyle?
👉🏼 is it your environment?
👉🏼 is it your hormones?
👉🏼 is it your gut?

There are ways to clam down inflammation such as adding some anti-oxidants and anti-inflammatory foods in to your diet.

This can look like adding turmeric in to your eggs or berries on your yoghurt.

But the main thing to remember is you will not put out the fire of inflammation if you don’t address the source.

Is it just me or was there the tiniest briefest, mini me amount of warmth that shone through over the weekend? Either way it put me in the mood for more fresh, nourishing, energy- giving meals!

✨This is my glowy-skin toasted granola packed with nutrients that are amazing to bring it that plumpy-radiant skin I know you have within you!✨

🛟Save this recipe for the weekend so you can batch cook this delish breakfast for the whole week!

👉🏼Melt the following ingredients over low heat on the stove until dissolved

💖 3 Tbsp Olive Oil
💖 2 Tbsp coconut oil
💖 1 Tbsp Tahini
💖 3 scoops Peruvian superblend collagen
💖 dash of vanilla
💖 1 Tbsp of honey

👉Then add in

💖 2 cups quinoa puffs
💖 1 cup pumpkin seeds
💖 1 cup sunflower seeds
💖 1/2 cup chopped walnuts

👉🏻Mix together until all ingredients are coated well

👉🏼 lay out on a baking tray and put in the oven on a low heat (about 120 DC) and bake for around 40-60mins until crunchy golden (but not burnt-learn from me)

👉🏿Enjoy with fresh fruit & coconut yoghurt!

☝🏾This one I stirred through berry immune powder for extra antioxidants 🍓

Basically it’s an adult health coco pops that makes your skin pop 🫶🏼

Hmmm feels a little too close to home...

Antibiotics 👉🏼Disrupted gut microbiome, reducing good bacteria, increasing acne

The Pill 👉🏼 Suppresses sebum production, the body compensates by producing more sebum, acne can get worse (especially when coming off the pill)

Roaccutane 👉🏼 thins the skin, reducing the barrier protection, increasing potential microbes when roaccutane is ceased (it also has a big impact on the liver which is a vital organ that plays a big role in skin health)

☝🏽A common cycle I myself have been caught in. Band-aid fixes, eventually causing more acne!
