Both couples know Newy, but none of them knew about any of the bars on our tour. We all had a blast discussing everything from new Newy street art to old cold chisel classics!

Why do you love being a tour guide?
I love being able to share what I love about Newcastle, and my life in Newcastle with other people. It’s great seeing the excitement and surprise that new knowledge and information brings. Also it’s a job where I am outside in the world and active in the community!
What do you do when you’re not running tours?
I am a photographer, and I have just started a social group called Newy Friends - it’s an amazing community picnic where we find friends the old-school way!!
What would be your perfect day in Newcastle?
I’d ride my bike to sunrise swim at Bar Beach 🚲🏊♀️, have a hot chocolate ☕️ from the Kiosk, and a really good convo on the steps of Newy Beach. Brekky at Estabar 🥞, a Newy Friends community picnic 👯♀️, and then finishing with music and a drink 🍻 somewhere!
What do you love most about being Novocastrian?
I love the size of Newcastle, accessibility to independent businesses in town, proximity to the beach, and the support and strength of my community! That I can ride everywhere! And always run into someone I know!!

What do you love about being a tour guide?
I love meeting new people, and I particularly love hearing people's observations and stories about the city during the tour.
What else do you do in Newcastle?
When I’m not showing people the best bars in town, I’m writing stories or working at the museum.
What 3 things would be part of a perfect day in Newcastle?
🌱 A leisurely stroll through the Carrington Mangroves
🌊 A dip in the waves at any of our magnificent beaches
🍹 Watching the sun go down over the harbour at Moneypenny with a cocktail in hand.
What do you love most about being Novocastrian?
It's a tight knit community with a big heart and lots of diverse groups thriving within the city. We have artists, small businesses, surfers, multicultural groups and everything in between. I also love how easy it is to get around Newcastle without a car! I have never owned a car in this city. Between buses, trains, my feet and my bicycle, I get exercise, fresh air and a chance to meet interesting people on the streets. I love it!
