Do you know the importance of accessory muscles and accessory exercises?

Accessory exercises help us make common functional daily tasks easier. Such as getting up off the floor, reaching overhead, carrying items and cooking.

The upper body accessory muscles control posture and training them reduces the risk of upper body injury.

Below you’ll find 5 upper body accessory exercises that you can complete at home with ease:

1. Reverse fly
2. Pec flys
3. Front/lateral raise
4. Bicep curl
5. Tricep dip

If you have questions, give us a call or pop into our practice to see one of our Exercise Physiologists for a 1:1 session.

“The impact of pelvic pain is vastly underestimated. About one in four women in Australia take an extended break or stop exercise, work or study because of pelvic pain”

“With the prevalence of pelvic pain, general practitioners and other health professionals should proactively ask women whether they experience pelvic pain rather than wait for women to raise the issue themselves”

Despite the huge prevalence of urinary incontinence - no one talks about it 🥲

Because of this, women often wait an average of 6 years (!!) to seek treatment for this condition 👎🏻

With studies showing a 56-75% success rate in the treatment of urinary incontinence through pelvic floor training, there’s no need to suffer through incontinence on your own 🫶

Love your pelvic floor and book in with our experienced women’s health physiotherapists today 🩵

Is this you?

We get it - massages feel amazing, and can provide short-term relief and promote recovery. However, massage alone may not treat the root cause of your pain.

In a physiotherapy session, we use massage techniques to offer immediate relief and also assess your concerns to identify the underlying cause of the pain.

You'll leave our clinic feeling relieved, with a better understanding of what's causing your discomfort, and equipped with tools to manage and correct it at home. We want to manage your discomfort for the long-term!

Book online (link in our bio) or contact us via DM, email or phone on (02) 4957 2961
