🌟 Today, we at Koiop Connect honour & celebrate Mabo Day! 🌟
On this day in 1992, the High Court's decision, led by the unwavering spirit of Eddie Koiki Mabo, recognised the enduring land rights of the Meriam people. This pivotal moment shattered the myth of terra nullius, affirming the deep and ancient connection our people have to this land.
Eddie Mabo’s legacy is a testament to the strength and resilience of our communities. His fight for justice inspires us everyday in our journey towards reconciliation and truth.
As an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander company, we carry forward this legacy with pride, reflecting on the importance of our cultural heritage and the ongoing struggle for our rights.
Let’s come together to honour our past, celebrate our culture, and commit to a future where our rights and stories are respected and upheld. 🤍💚🖤💙
