The workshop aims to be fun, and also contribute to learning new skills and participating in community activities, which means those living with a disability may be able to use their NDIS funding to attend (depending on individual circumstances). It will be on Saturday 25th of November, 11am to 12pm, a the HMC - Hunter Multicultural Communities Inc, 2A Platt St, Waratah NSW 2298. If you would like to find out more or register your interest, visit www.sidebysidecare.com.au/storytelling-workshop or drop us a message. See you there!
Story-telling can be beneficial for people of all abilities but it’s not always encouraged among those who may communicate in ways that don’t completely fit the norm, like those with a learning disability, neurological conditions like Autism or psychological disorders.
This workshop will focus on helping specifically these groups of people tell a story.

Direct disability discrimination happens when a person with a disability is treated less favourably than a person without that disability in the same or similar circumstances.
