Today we celebrate Christy’s 2 year Anniversary with us.
We appreciate her dedication, creativity and passion she brings with her every day.
Congratulations! We are so grateful to have you as part of the Wanneroo family🥰
For “Thank a Cop Day” our Nursery children decorated some cards and handed them to a family member who works at the police headquarters to hand out to the team. Thanking Cops that provide us with excellent service in our community helps children develop their understanding and become involved in of their wider community.
Our Nursery children had a fun-filled day in their culinary class today, where they assisted our gifted chef to prepare a delightful sultana slice. This hands-on experience not only allows them to develop their culinary skills but also fosters an appreciation for the art of cooking. They are developing essential mathematical concepts in a social and interactive environment.
Our Kindy children have been experimenting with watercolours. Today they drew pictures and letters with white wax crayons and painted over the marks to reveal the image more clearly.
Our children love discovering new ways to explore and showcase their creativity
What to do with an empty box?
Children love exploring their creativity and imagination with boxes.
Today our Tiny Tots reused a large box playing puppets, hiding and drawing.
Our children also develop social connections through this shared experience.
Our Toddlers are loving the dramatic play in the kitchen area. We are encouraging these skills to move from just dramatic play to expand to real life skills.
The most recent culinary class for the Toddlers with Chef Andi was making mininpizzas, which they then enjoyed for lunch 🍕
The Educators have extended further with pictures from the children cooking at home, being displayed in the room environment to share with the peers.
This week we enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea, to celebrate all of the amazing dads, bonus dads, carers, granddad and the special men who are such wonderful role models to the children in their lives.💙
The Junior Kindy children engaged in an exploration of shadows and reflection using an overhead projector with various resources 🌟
Today we had Daycare Dental visit the centre to perform dental health checkups with some of our children.
This not only educates our children on the importance of dental health but builds confidence in going for regular check ups with a dentist.
RSPCA Cupcake Day! We celebrated with some cupcakes for our parent treat, children sharing pictures of their pets and an educator brought in her bunny Winter.
The children connect with animals and learn about compassion, care and respect 🦮 🐈⬛🐇🥰
One of our beautiful families donated some blank books for the children. Our Kindy children created their own storybooks by drawing pictures, writing and decorating them.
This shows how children can be involved in sustainability while creating a treasured personalised book for them to practice their drawing and writing skills
To celebrate Book Week, our toddlers engaged in a sensory play activity inspired by 'Where's Wally'. This experience allowed them to develop their fine and gross motor skills, while also encouraging exploration, discovery, and problem-solving.
Building Connextions.
One of the children took home the “class pet” from her school this week.
When she attended GL Wanneroo she was very excited to share her pets name was Katie.
She was excited that's there was so many Katies for the day (the cat and 2 Educators) we took a photo so she could share it at school when she took the car back from its adventures.
Children get to participate in fun games, so why can't our Educators 🙂 This week our Wellness champions organised some Wellness bingo for our team. It was a great way to have some fun, open communication and come together as a team.
I spy with my little eye… 👀
The Junior Kindy children used magnifying glasses to search for marine animals. They developed their matching skills by finding the pictures on the cards somewhere on the puzzle.
Red Nose Day ❤️
Today our educators and children wore red to raise awareness for red nose day, a cause close to our hearts ❤️
Creative Collaboration 🌻
Two friends spent some time together using their imagination and problem solving skills to make a city using a range of resources.
Today the educators and children raised awareness for jeans for genes day by wearing denim! 💙🩵
Today our Toddlers did a culinary class with Chef Andi and made mini pizzas. They spread the sauce, added all the toppings and sent them to the kitchen to cook in the oven 😋
Cooking with children promotes healthy eating and teaches them important lifelong skills.
This week was International day of Friendship.
We had a lot of activities that tied into this, both Adults and Children.
The educators picked another team member to write a letter to.
The children drew their teachers lovely pictures on the envelopes.
Once the envelopes were packed, we went to the post office, got the stamps, and posted them to the team members houses for a beautiful surprise.
Don’t forget to check your mail box this week. 📬
Busy hands, creative minds💡
This week our Junior Kindy children engaged in an open-ended art experience using various materials. We value the importance of giving children opportunities to express their creativity and take their learning in their own direction.
The possibilities are endless!
Today we packed up the cars and took the donations from our families and Educators down to the Fostering Hope office.
Thank you to all of those who donated. We have so many things to give, such a wonderful feeling of helping all of these children entering fostering care.
Rainy days have prompted the children to talk about the weather, describing what they can see and feel.
‘It’s blue!’ they said when looking at the sky.
The children began painting what they could see, using blue paint to create raindrops. They then created their own clouds using blue collage materials 🌧️
