Banksia Grove Primary School
Banksia Grove PS opened in 1996 and became an independent school in 2013. We believe in maximising the learning outcomes of our student.
We are located in the heart of Banksia Grove and have a population of around 500 students from years K-6.

This event will be held as part of Rugby Australia & RugbyWA's Gold Blooded Tour, in the lead up to the Australia vs South Africa test match the next day at Optus Stadium on Saturday 17th August. With that in mind we are excited to inform you that several Classic Wallabies will be in attendance!

Tri Tag Rugby is a minimal contact, low injury risk, attack-based rugby union game that incorporates the skill set and fabric of rugby. The format offers a fun, safe, inclusive, and fast-paced alternative to the traditional game.
Tri Tag Rugby embraces all the aspects that make Rugby Union unique; scrums, lineouts, and the breakdown, but does so in a way that is fun and accessible for all participants, regardless of skill or experience.

We are super proud of Nick. He ran his heart out to place second in the state trials. He made the 2024 Western Australian State Cross Country under 11 team and will be travelling to Launceston on the 31st August to compete for our state. We will be cheering for you Nick. We hope you have the best time achieve your personal best.

NAIDOC Week. Students have now completed a NAIDOC bracelet, and yesterday the senior students learned about tool-making with our Aboriginal and Islander Education Officer (AIEO) Mr. Mekhi Yarran.
Enrolments are now open for VacSwim school holiday swimming lessons. With locations at pools and beaches across WA, they're a great school holiday activity. These fun lessons also teach children skills to help keep them safe in and around water.

We began our NAIDOC week celebrations today with a special assembly. This was followed up by the creation of this amazing sand art and sampling of crocodile or emu sausages.

Yesterday students years 1 to 6 attended an incursion 'Aboriginal Survival Tecnology'.
This showed how Aboriginal people lived before Europeans came to Australia.

Students handled a huge range of artefacts and learnt so much.

Today we joined in with National Simultaneous Storytime, where schools across Australia read the same book at the same time. This years book is called Bowerbird Blues by Aura Parker.
At 10am this morning, we were treated to a live reading of the book over the PA system by two of our amazing Year 5 students, Annalee and Zelise from Kwenda 1.
Well done girls, we are so proud of you!
Amazing effort today to raise over $700 today at the Year 6 bake sale. Left over items $1 at tomorrow lunch break.
