ARTIST SPOTLIGHT EXHIBITION!

Come join us for the full exhibition of both of these amazing artists who have had their work on display in the cafe the last few weeks.

We have only had a small sample of Gary & Traceys work on display so we are super excited to see the cafe transformed into an art gallery for the evening!

The evening will consist of:
Full display of both artists work.
Light refreshments (free) + other refreshments available for purchase.
The opportunity to speak with artists about what inspires them.
Both artists will be giving a brief presentation/speech on the evening.

Raffle Tickets

You will have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets to go in the draw to win a piece of art of either or both artists.

Tickets can be paid for either prior to the exhibition in the cafe (perfect if you can’t make it to the evening but still would like to be in with a chance to win!) or of course on the evening.

Tickets are $20 cash or $22.50 via eftpos each and you can purchase as many as you like!

Raffle tickets will be drawn on the evening.

This is our very special mate Kevin and his trusty side kick Pancho!

Many of you may already know Kev, who is here most days and loves to have a good chat!

Unfortunately Kevin lost his beautiful wife, Julie last year to glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer.

Each year approx. 1900 people (including children) are diagnosed with malignant brain tumours in Australia.

On behalf of Julies family, we are offering the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets in the cafe, with all proceeds being donated to The Cure Brain Cancer Foundation of
Australia.

As you know we love to serve you consistently amazing coffee! (also food & chats)

Since we started Second Wind just over a year ago, we have had on average 2-3 price increases per wholesale supplier.

Being such a young cafe and with our main focus on making sure you get top quality coffee, food and service, we have absorbed the majority of these increases, while still maintaining our “not a perfect shot gets dropped” philosophy.

However, as we adjust our sails and focus more on the long term future of Second Wind Surf Cafe, we want to ensure this space is always available and that we are able to continue to provide great food and coffee for the amazing community we have here!

We feel forced to adjust our prices (coffee & alt milks) by 50c.

We are aware that many other cafes have already done this and we have dug our heels in for as long as possible.

We hope everyone can understand these changes and know they were not made lightly.
We so appreciate your continued support, and love having the opportunity to make you top notch coffee!

These sold out super quick last time so don’t miss out!

Navah Horomona, Navah Kingi Horomona

Navah specialises in hyper-realism and his mediums of choice are graphite, charcoal and paint.

As well as being an amazing artist, he is also a very talented singer songwriter!

Some of Navah’s original pieces will be on display in Second Wind Cafe from this Monday 8/8 for approximately 3-4 weeks.

This will be followed by an “Meet the Artist” exhibition evening, (alongside Moose Custom Surfboards ) where you will be able to meet and learn more about the story, process and journey behind each piece of art.

Artist Spotlight Announcement!

We are so excited to announce our first artist in our artist spotlight series!

Chad “Moose“ Diephuis - featuring in house from Friday 8th of July for 3 weeks!

Moose spent several years on the east coast as a tattoo artist, which has heavily influenced his artistic style, mainly focused on neo traditional and Japanese traditional art.

Moose’s mediums are posca, and acrylics, on canvas and wood, spray and posca on surfboards, digital composition.

Keep an eye out for out artist interview coming soon!

We have been open 7 months now! 🥳

…and we have become a busy little cafe that’s still growing through all the ups and downs of Cvd! I’ll be the first to admit it’s definitely been a challenge.

We are in the process of creating a “Support Local Wall” in the cafe.
Part of our vision has always been to create community and help support small local businesses and artists.

Creating a hub for local (Wangara & surrounding suburbs) to share their services and engage with and support each other.

We are extending an invitation to any businesses in the area to contribute, flyers, brochures and business cards to get it started!

All good things take time to build so we will be working on this over the next few weeks but with your help I’m sure we can get it happening quickly!

Also, to show our support we would like to offer a discount to local businesses on coffee when having a “Business Dine in Meeting”.

We have some other exciting things happening soon so keep an eye out!

We’ll be setting up on the lawn out front of Oceanline Surfboards & Second Wind Surf Cafe 1/12 Buckingham Drive, Wangara - you won’t be able to miss us! 🤙🏼

When we started Second Wind Surf it was never in our plan to be an average cafe or surf accessory shop.

Myself (Jana), hubby & son had the vision to build a community and create a platform to support & promote local artists & musicians.

We just didn’t realise how synchronistic that would actually be or how many talented people we already had around us.

Most of the last 3 months has been about getting the bones of the cafe established and meeting some pretty amazing people along the way!

But heading into 2022, even with the world in such a crazy state, we now more than ever feel the drive & urgency to start putting more energy into building a community & getting our vision off the ground!

We have been secretly planning & creating an event to be held early march here at Second Wind Surf & !

We are going to start creating some noise (and art!) so keep your eyes peeled and if you’re a talented muso or artist of any kind (or know someone who is) DM us, or better yet drop in for a brew and chat!

We are looking for someone who is confident in all aspects of coffee crafting, directing flow of the kitchen, is efficient, and who loves chilled surf vibes!

Our focus is mainly on coffee and atmosphere, with some healthy fun food on the side.
We would like a barista who has solid experience, is ready for a new fresh space, that is keen to be part of our surf cafe family, and who is wanting to stay longterm, with the potential to eventually run the day to day growth of the cafe.
