These rad little beauties can control their light!

I'll admit, I've had a few people give me an odd face when I tell them my business name (I don't blame them), but squids can change colour and control light- they're pretty fitting for this line of work, if you ask me!

It also happens to be my nickname from uni, which is another story...

Although I've been pretty quiet on here, I've been working on my Instagram account. I'll let you know when it's ready to go and you can give that a follow if you so choose. I can't wait to share some of my most recent work once they're on air. Some nice things to come- A few new TVCs, a short film and a new doco series.

COOL NEW LUMINOUS SQUID DISCOVERED SHOOTS GLOWING JETS TO ESCAPE PREDATORS

Researchers have announced a new species of ‘butterfly bobtail’ squid has been discovered.
The species which has been formally named irodoteuthis merlini can be found off New Zealand, and eastern and southeastern Australia.
The researcher who made the discovery, Dr Mandy Reid says this colourful little critter uses light in its body in a fascinating way.
“They store phosphorescent bacteria in a special ‘light organ’, and the light intensity can be switched on and off by the squid. They can adjust the light by depriving the resident bacteria of oxygen or giving them an extra ‘burst’ to increase the glow. At times of trouble they can sq**rt jets of these luminescent bacteria into the water to surprise potential predators.”
Irodoteuthis merlini, was named after UNSW Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Merlin Crossley for his work in the field.

It's been an incredible journey and I'm looking forward to exciting projects on the horizon.
